The Winter Olympics are being held in Vancouver this year from February 12-28th!
And I can't wait- I know it's crazy, but I love the winter ones! I think it's the majesty of the ice sports, the thrill of the downhills, the teamwork of the bobsled, the risk of the speed skaters, or maybe the fact that I actually finally UNDERSTOOD the rules of curling and got into it 4 years ago! Ok, so maybe there wasn't alot on late at night when I was up, but we won't go there will we?
Ok, maybe we will cause that may have something to do with it- the winter sports are just better on replay in the middle of the night. There's more anticipation of thrills and spills than there are during tack and tennis and basketball....
And really, don' we really all need to admit that Bob Costas has done a pretty good job about educating us about those small hidden away countries? Oh I know the 'feel good' stories get old and similar after awhile, but you know the first couple of ones will bring a tear to the eye!
So you'll have to excuse me if my posts go down during these 2 weeks, I'm gonna be watching and wishing I was there!
PS- you gotta admit that their mascots are pretty cute in an animae way! They've got a Sasquatchan animal guardian spirit and a sea bear for mascots- you gotta love those Canadians, eh?
