Plus Size Costume Review

Well Kiddo is going as a princess and wants Mom to dress up SOME when we go trick or treating, so obviously it was either the Queen or the Evil Witch, in order to match her, and well, we all know the Evil Witch is much more fun......

halloween cape 2SO when I was offered the chance to review an item from the Plus Size Costume Super Center, I knew JUST what to pick: the Womens Deluxe Velvet and Satin Cape! All I have to do is add a black top and pants or a skirt, and I'm in good shape for walking the neighborhood!

" The Women's Deluxe Velvet and Satin Cape is a hooded cloak with black velvet on the outside and deep purple satin on the inside. It features an oversized hood and a velvet button closure at the beck. It is ideal for wearing over witch costumes or any other costume you desire. The open cape design make it fit and flatter everyone."

halloween cape 1If you're busty, you know sometimes one size fits all isn't really true. But as you can see from the picture, this cape will truly fit just about anybody. And I'm only 5'2 and am going to have to tack the cape up about 3 inches, as it is so long! The button neck closure was a nice change (the description had said it had a ribbon closure) and one that I prefer. The velvet is a nice heavier weight velvet that hangs well. The liner satin is a gorgeous purple color and really pops out next to the black. The hood fits well over lots of hair, or if you had a tiara on!  In fact, my only complaint is that it is a heavier cape than I though it would be, so I may need to use shoulder pads on my shirt, to help distribute the weight of it.

When was the last time you saw a cape for UNDER $35 that you could say that about? Right! This is definitely a keeper, and I know because of the quality construction, it will last for years, and take me from Halloween to Ren Fest to Mardi Gras with no problem (yes, we in the South like to dress up, we're still kids at heart, just get over it and come join us! HA HA).
