Book Review and Giveaway: Flowers For Her Grave by Jean Sheldon

Oh how I wish this book was the beginning of a new series for the author! You'll love the story AND characters!

Flowers For Her Grave cover
Synopsis: An article in the Raccoon Grove Gazette about a 20-year-old unsolved murder and kidnapping rekindles interest in the tragedy. Anonymous letters arrive, one claims to know the identity of the killer, while another says the missing child is alive in nearby Chicago. Growing interest in the old crime makes someone in town nervous and when the local gossip columnist and gardener team up to solve the decades old case, accidents threaten to stop to their investigation. A narrow escape from a burning building, a car window shattered by a wayward bullet, and confrontations with unhappy neighbors prompt the women to invite all involved to a garden party. No one could have guessed the truth, and neither will you in this surprising whodunit.

Review: Wow, this story had more twists and turns than the Smokey Mountain Highway! And like the Highway, it's a VERY pleasant experience! I finished the book in 2 sittings and was shocked I had not read any of the author's books before! Her sense of mystery and characters is amazing! If you live in a small town, you will recognize how local gossip can fuel rumors and assumptions, and even change how history is remembered, until someone rips the proverbial bandaid off the wound! By changing the narrators around, we get to know both main characters very well, and care that they find the solution in the end! Highly recommended!

About the Author: Jean Sheldon has spent the last forty some odd years working as a fine and graphic artist, cab driver, landscaper, respiratory therapist, bartender, musician, along with numerous other occupations. In 2004, she began writing fiction. My life has been a series of creative endeavors. For me, that works best. It was with surprise and delight I found weaving stories the most satisfying.
