Product Review and Giveaway: Fill in the Blankie Personalized Blanket

I have a very special giveaway and review for you today!
This has to be one of the BEST products I have ever reviewed on this blog!

Say hello to Fill in the Blankie, personalized blankets!

They offer a variety of blankies to choose from and you can add up to 200 characters to personalize your blanket. It's not your typical monogrammed baby blanket with the name and birthday. You can add names of the mommy, daddy, siblings and even a pet! Add your favorite nursey rhyme. The idea is to tell a story around the soft, satin edges that will warm hearts and never, ever hit a garage sale pile.

Fill in the Blankie 1Here's an example;
Side 1: Lillian Anne Caylor was  born on 6.10.11 at 2:42 am
Side 2: She weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long
Side 3: Her mommy is Marie and her daddy is Matt
Side 4: Sweet dreams, Lily!

There are 4 blank fields, 50 characters per line -- so, the possibilities are endless. Sometimes it can be hard to come up with the right saying, or what to say, so they also have wording suggestions for inspiration or you can use their"mad libs" text and fill in the blanks.They have 8 types of blankets to choose from, from soft to very soft, and all at different price ranges. With at least 4 colors choices per type of blanket, and choice of embroidery thread color, you can make your blankie a one of a kind treasure!

kiddos blankie 1
kiddos blankie 2I ordered a blanket for Kiddo, based on her favorite song (Twinkle, Twinkle), but from Evangeline, the star from the Princess and the Frog movie. In the movie (spoiler alert coming), when Ray the firefly dies, his spirit goes up to the sky and becomes a star like Evangeline. Kiddo is always looking for Evangeline and pointing her out (we have explained the star she sees is really Venus, a planet, but she just gives us that look like "to-may-to, to-mah-to, duh" ). Kiddo has been seriously missing her Grandpa (who passed away in October), and I thought this would be a very comforting gift for her, so she can look at the star on the Blankie, and know that Grandpa is with Evangeline and God (who lives in Heaven, with all the stars, per Kiddo), and watching over her.

kiddos blankie 3Kiddo has adored soft, cuddly blankies since we brought her home, so I was very happy with the softness of the 'Natalie's On Cloud Nine' blanket (FYI, it is the same one in the picture at the top of the post, my flash faded it out). I customized a pink one with brown embroidery thread and was able to add a star! The blanket is 30" X 30" in size, and just big enough for Kiddo to still cuddle up with. I loved how they attached a note on the back of the card for the blanket, that related to the saying on the front. It's a nice, human touch, that will mean alot to mom and dad!

I love Fill In the Blankie! They did an incredible job on this blanket, and I will definitely be using them for gifts in the future!

Ready to win one for yourself, or treasured family member or friend?

Update: I let Kiddo have her blankie on Christmas Eve, as she was really missing her Grandpa, and wanted to make sure her letter to him was where he could see it from heaven. She understood immediately and wrapped it around herself and ran through the house, and advised me that it was like having Guardian Angel wings...As I type this she went to bed with it attached to her arm, and there it stayed. Poor Clifford the dog was replaced by the blankie- she will only sleep with 3 toys. The new line up is now the blankie, Derby the racehorse (Christmas gift from Grandma, which replaced Rudolph-eek), and her angel bear cuddle that she has had since she was a baby. So yes, it is already MUCH loved!

  17. If I won this beautiful blanket I would keep it for when my first grandchild is born. I am a cancer patient and I have started to collect items in a chest for the grandchildren my daughters will have some day. Therefore if I don't beat my cancer at least my daughters will have precious items for my grandbabies. :)
