It's All Hallow's Week, so it's definitely time for a Supernatural book 
review and giveaway!

Synopsis:  Growing up, Selene was too different and never really fit anywhere. Even as a little girl, Selene had always been adventurous, climbing trees and finding new adventures in every nook and cranny. She was never accepted by either gender—all children thought she was too outspoken and strange. Little did she know how different she truly was.

Now 22, she literally lived the life of a starving artist, taking up art at Penland School of Crafts and bartending at night to pay the bills. Only her dreams of a gorgeous mystery man gave her comfort and the strength to go forward. While out jogging at night, Selene is attacked then rescued by a man with silver hair,  an encounter that changes her life forever.

From the moment that Lucian saw Selene, he knew she was special and that she was his destiny. He sent his brother, Anton, out to watch over her and protect her while she is still unaware of her true nature. Lucian, however, didn't foresee that Anton and Selene would be mutually attracted to each other. Will Selene come between the two brothers? How will she handle the truth about what she is and the power that courses through her veins?

Review: This is a very quick read (less than 2 hours for me) and it packs alot in it's slim borders. I would have liked to have seen the book expanded more, as there were times when I felt like I was skimming an outline more than reading a chapter. By which, I mean I wanted MORE, I wanted more vivid descriptions and dialogue between the characters! As it is her first book, it might have just needed more attention from the editors.

I liked the idea of turning the vampire story on it's proverbial fang, and explaining how they were created and survive today-as slaves to a species called as strigoi, who can inject life, and also drain it from another person (hence the vampire legend). I was surprised at the ending, it wasn't what I expected, but showed the true resolve and perseverance of the main characters. And the author left the book open for a sequel, which I would like to read!

She enjoys writing, painting, cooking different cuisines and loves animals. She loves North Carolina because one can get the beach and mountains with very little distance in between the two.
