Have I got a great kid's book for you that is being released today!

Hey God, I've Got Some Guy named Jonah in My Stomach and I Think I'm Gonna Throw Up cover

Synopsis:
Oh sure, we've all heard the story of Jonah and the Whale a hundred times. But have we heard it from the perspective of the whale who experienced that history-making event?

Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Jonah in My Stomach and I Think I'm Gonna Throw Up! imagines how that great sea creature from the incident might tell his side of the story, helping kids ages 4 to 8 discover a creative way of learning about that guy who was supposed to go to Ninevah. The "Parent  Connection" feature (inside the book) will help moms and dads take the story further with scripture references and tips on how to talk with their children about what really happened.

The series:  This is just one of the books in this new kid's series!  Other books available include Hey God, Can You Stop the Rain so I Can Get off Noah's Smelly Ark?(animal's perspective) and Hey God, I'm Having an Awful Vacation in Egypt Thanks to Moses!

Review: Oh my, did Miss Grace laugh herself SILLY through this whole book! She loves Finding Nemo, so to her a talking whale was perfectly acceptable!  As you can see the illustrations are bright and colorful and really grab your kid's attention. Course Miss Grace had to narrate the story from the bible perspective to me a we were reading this book (yeah, that's what you get when they recently discussed the tale in class!).

The book is down right hysterical with the whale arguing with God that he doesn't want to swallow Jonah ("ugh humans, they taste like dirt"- irony here, man shaped from clay?), and knowing it's NOT a wise idea to do so, and finally accepting what he must do to follow God. We had a HUGE discussion on that topic as it related to a child following their parent's requests and not talking back. VERY could situational comparison!
We also had a good discussion on not giving up on God, as Jonah didn't when he was in the whale's stomach.

All in all I was VERY impressed on how well Troy got the true meaning of the tale into terms that kids'can relate to and understand, yet so funny they can't wait to turn the pages. Kudos for making a bible story fresh and new!  Miss Grace politely informed me that we had to get the other 2 books RIGHT away, as she could NOT wait to read them, especially the ark one! So you know she liked the book!

At the end of the book is a "Parent Connection" feature, that can help parents reference the story further with scripture notations, and tips on how to talk with their children about what happened (we were past that by the time we got to it! LOL) There's even a free online app to retelling the story even more fun with animation and interactive features! All things young kids adore!

You have to pick up this series for your kids and bible school classes! They' thank you (once they get done laughing so hard!) and really learn about God's word!
