whispers on the dock cover

Synopsis: Three sisters. A charming inn. Hints of mystery and romance. And a gorgeous seaside setting. Escape to Misty Harbor Inn.

As Nantucket reaches the pinnacle of its summer glory, and the Marris sisters welcome guests at Misty Harbor Inn, youngest sister Sam Carter enters her mother's cobbler recipe in the Summerfest baking contest. But she faces a formidable opponent, a past winner who is determined to keep her title even if it means stooping to dirty tactics. Can Sam's newfound faith help her rise above the fray and reach out to this lonely woman? Meanwhile, an elderly guest arrives who knows the inn's history, and the sisters are stunned to learn that their late mother lived there as a child. But she told them she'd never been to Nantucket until her honeymoon! Through the woman's reminiscences and photos, the sisters make an intriguing discovery --- not only about the mysterious Hannah Montague, the young woman who disappeared from the house in 1880, but also about their own family history.

Readers will delight in the inviting Nantucket setting and be enthralled by the adventures of these sisters who reunite to bring their mother's Misty Harbor dreams to life.

Review:  I loved this book! The sisters are all over the age of 50 (concept!!), settling into their new community and experiences changes and making decisions that affect them all. The mystery of the Inn and how it connects to the sisters will have you wondering and then guessing the truth, but happy with how ti was resolved! You may see a lot of the plot coming, but the authors give you such an enjoyable, quick read, that you don't mind! The book it literally a 'feel good' book- you'll find yourself smiling when you finish it, and wanting to run and read books 1 and 2 in the series! This is wonderful end of Summer read, and the series would make a great gift basket gift for your mom, aunt or treasured friend (remember Christmas is ONLY 127 days away- sorry for scaring you there...), especially for a birthday!

About the previous Books in this series:

In the first book, releasing this spring, Seaside Harmony readers meet the Marris sisters as they arrive in Nantucket for the summer and discover their beloved Misty Harbor Inn is not only shuttered and run-down – it’s for sale. Drawing on their memories of their late mother’s love for the stately old colonial house, Caroline convinces her sisters to pool their resources and shared inheritance to buy the inn and fulfill their mother’s dream of opening a bed and breakfast. Renovations at the Misty Harbor Inn get under way, bringing a number of challenges, but as the sisters restore the inn, the old house becomes a place of grace and transformation, both for the guests and owners. Along with repairing the house, Caroline also has to learn how to work on her relationships since her free-spirited and often unfocused ways have a tendency of hurting those she loves.

The second release in the series is Sunflower Summer, which picks up the story from middle sister Gracie’s perspective. The Misty Harbor Inn is the ideal place for a romantic getaway, and the sisters are always excited to welcome honeymoon couples. However, Gracie is especially distressed when one young couple seems headed for a breakup over breakfast. As she wonders if she should intervene, she asks God to show her the way. Helping the young couple helps Gracie make an important discovery about herself: Her sense of  responsibility and unadventurous mindset occasionally make her judgmental and unyielding. However, by helping the couple, she realizes that she does have a role to play at the inn and really is needed there.
