1,001 Best Slow-Cooker Recipes cover

Slow-cookers are a great complement to today’s busy lifestyles. Once the ingredients are added, the virtually meal cooks itself. If you have the time (and are smart), you can prepare your ingredients on the weekend, bag and freeze them, and then all you have to do in the morning is empty the bags into your crockpot, and 8 hours later you have dinner. Or put them in overnight for a lazy weekend breakfast meal! This collection brings together a huge number, and variety, of recipes that show off the ease, versatility and delicious possibilities of cooking with a crock pot! Seasoned cookbook author Sue Spitler covers every aspect of using slow-cookers: the various kinds and sizes of cookers, what recipes work best in each size of crockpot, preparing all the necessary ingredients beforehand,  and how to cook on the go! Included are more than a thousand scrumptious recipes — all thoroughly tested — for appetizers, entrees, side dishes, breads, sandwiches, and desserts.

I didn't have time for a thorough perusal, but I did find some YUMMY meatballs, that I wanted to share with you, as it is National Citrus Month too (makes sense, we need to have a LOT of Vitamin C with this weird weather!). This recipe reminds me a LOT of Mom's Haawaiian meatloaf too! I don't know about you, but our family loves meatballs any time of the year, and isn't it odd how after the holidays, we always want to stop making them? They are SO easy and kid friendly! AND you can add just about ANY side dish to them, to make your kids happy with their dinner selection!

  1. Yup...having access to more than 1000 slow cooker recipes sounds like you probably won't need another cookbook of its kind. I am amazed how you can make so many different things in a slow cooker - even bread.
