Every kid growing up wants to be a super hero.
And why not- you get some amazing powers, you fight for good over evil, and you get a pretty cool cape, usually (course Wonder Woman had that whole magic lasso....).
So maybe now, as an adult, you dress as a super hero for Halloween, and/or Mardi Gras (and maybe a few other times during the year...).
But you don't have any amazing powers, now do you?
Ah but you CAN!
And I'm NOT talking about being the Mom/Dad with the mostest. I'm talking about being a hero to a non-profit that needs YOUR help to make a difference in the lives of many. Repeat after me- 'the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few' (had to throw something in for you Trekkies).
April 28th is National Superhero Day and to kick it off right – Power Capes, the company that you know and love for providing your kids with AMAZING super wear (check out our review too) is hosting it's inaugural Super Run event in Detroit, Michigan on April 26th 2014, and in over 20 locations nationally, with more coming soon!

What to upgrade to the next level of hero? You don't REALLY have to run, you can sorta jog. And really HOW many times can you get your WHOLE family dressed as super heroes for charity? I heard the kids scream "yeah" in the background! Think of it as a 'super-family' day-everybody being a hero for someone else! And talk about modeling behavior for your kids to emulate! Kids learn more by what they SEE us doing, than by what we tell them to do!
Wanna upgrade some more? Join the realms of the League of Superheroes? Then get involved for the non-profit you are involved with already. Check out how YOU can bring the Super Run to YOUR city (check their map to see if your city is already on the list!) and help your non-profit get the funds they desperately need in these budget conscious times! WHEN: We currently have 20 + event dates schedule throughout the USA – and we’re adding more daily!
WHERE: From Maine to California, Michigan to Florida.
WHY: To raise funds and awareness for a non-profit that is close to your heart.
HOW: The Super Run is an event management company that will handle all of the details and logistics of planning an event in your area. You provide the volunteers for the day of the event and they’ll handle the rest! A portion of the registration fees PLUS 100% of sponsorships and funds raised go directly to your organization!
