April is Autism Action and Awareness month, if you weren't aware!
As you know, this blog has always been a supporter for Autism awareness, due to having friends and family members with Autistic children. We are well aware of the difficulties and issues face by parents with kids that are anywhere on the Autistic spectrum.
The rate of Autism is increasing (the most recent CDC statistic report is that 1 in every 50 children has autism) as we've shared with you before, so it is a cause that we feel needs to be in everyone's vision.
Schwan's understands this need to support a cause that you are 100% behind! SO much so that they have started a new program, Schwan’s Cares.
This new program lets community members support their favorite causes, whether its a local youth sports team, a non-profit group, a church projects or behind a National cause, via an easy-to-create fundraising page on Schwans-Cares.com.
You create a campaign page, build your 'team' and invite people to your campaign, your supports then shop online from more than 350 of Schwan’s home-style foods, and your groups receives a portion of the proceeds from those sales (20% during the active campaign (usually about 40 days), and 5% for the rest of the year!). help the fundraising group meet its goals with online purchases. Your group then has money to get the items it needs, and your supporters have gotten some great products from Schwan's! It's a win- win for everyone! I don't know about you, but I am pretty impressed with the 20% contribution! They also give $10 for every $25 egift certificate sold! Schwan's really IS giving back to our communities and causes!
And you're probably thinking, they'll have a limit, right?
Check where they are so far:
Pretty impressive, isn't it?
They even have materials ready to go that explain the program, all you have to do is print them out and hand them out/email them! How easy is that? Best part- ALL of it, from setting up to running, is FREE for your group! And they send you a check 20 days after your campaign ends, so there is no long wait, wondering where the funds are!
Not looking at starting your own campaign, but want to support a local cause though this program? You can check the campaign page to find one in your area, or that you want to support. Easy peasy!
Here are 2 that I found that you might want to support:
So head on over and check it out!
And be sure to give Schwan's a shout out on their Facebook or Twitter pages about what a great program this is!
