Since we were talking about maids and cleaning earlier,
I figured talking about a cleaning product that REALLY works would be appropriate!

Meet the Scott's cleaning line:

My family has used Scott's Liquid Gold Wood Cleaner and Preservative for two generations already! In fact the company was founded in 1951, in a garage in Denver, Colorado, so it's not a surprise! in fact, after my great-aunt's house fire, it was the only product that restored all the woodwork in the house to it's original state, and cleaned out all the ash and smoot! WE have always used the oil version, so I was intrigued to see how well their spray version would work!

Made with natural organic oils, the cleaner rejuvenates and restores all types of natural wood.

Scott's Liquid Gold Wood Cleaner and Preservative Spray is a wax-free, silicone-free, organic oil wood treatment, that enhances the color, grain and sheen of most naturally finished or unfinished wood while also protecting against cracking, warping and fading.

I decided to try it on my Mom's antique china cabinet first, as it was in sore need of some TLC, as you can see from the left hand picture below. You can also see what looks like a ding or two.You can see the grain of the wood, but it is muted. This is a mahogany cabinet, but it was looking more like maple!

Big difference, huh? Gone are the 'dings', you can see the depth of the wood now, and it is back to the correct richness of the wood that it has.Because the 'dings' were surface level only, it was able to totally take them away!  It was REALLY dry too! I ended up spraying the whole side all the way down (using a circular motion), and then wiping it down, not once, but twice. Just look at HOW much dirt and grime came off of it:

I know- EWWWWWWWWWW!
And that was just the one side and door frame! I had another towel with the same amount when I finished the other side. The best part though is you can feel the difference in the wood- it doesn't feel 'dry', but back to it's original warmth. I'm so glad that the formula hasn't changed, just because it's in a new tyoe of container.

And if you didn't know- Liquid Gold Wood Cleaner and Preservative Spray also cleans & shines stainless steel, chrome and brass better than any other product on the market. The aerosol spray comes in 2 sizes, depending how how much you need!
