Review:
I lovd the author's previous book, Little Girl Lost, so I was very excited to check out the latest Lucy Black series! I was NOT disappointed! The book picks up months after the previous one, and the characters are still dealing with the fallout/aftermath from the trauma in it. The author does a great job in giving just enough info for new readers, yet enough to spark the interest to go back and read the previous book, if you hadn't. Again the author does an excellent job of incorporating the very political history if Ireland into how Lucy and her co-workers have to do their jobs. 'The troubles' have left their mark on the country, it's people and it's neighborhoods. Policing is not a straightforward job, and there are deep rooted hostilities that remain. Against this somber problem, the author weaves a delft little mystery that will have you guessing and turning pages as quickly as you can, to determine who was really at fault, and the true scope of the faults of man. I highly recommend it!
