Synopsis:

The Legend of St. Nicholas comes from Marley and Me illustrator, Richard Cowdrey, and captivates audiences , while telling the story of a young man named Nicholas, who was moved by the plight of the poor and needy. Nicholas spent his life secretly helping the poor all over the world, giving gifts on Christmas Eve to remind people of the greatest Gift of all, Jesus Christ. Review:

This is a 'modern' retelling of the legend of St Nicholas, telling a tale of a young Nick in 1940/50, listening to Santa telling a story of St. Nick as a young Victorian child, and how he came to share his riches with his best friends, giving them comfort, joy and happiness. The experience changed young St Nick, and that was how he spent every year on Jesus's birth- giving to those in need. For the 'modern' Nick, it is a reminder to think of others, which he does as he is shopping for presents for his siblings. He find joy in using the rest of his money to buy presents for kids who didn't have any. This is a lovely book as you can see, from above, and perfect to start the holiday season with, to remind kids of the importance of why we give to others.

Note:
This is an updated version of the book from the same author, from 2007, with illustrations by a different illustrator..
