Is Technology to Replace Face-to-Face Communication? (Keurig Giveaway)

With Veterans Day and Thanksgiving right around the corner, I wanted to share this very special
contest, that supports one of our favorite charities, and reunites people during the holiday season!

New survey from Keurig finds one-in-four Americans uses digital technology to replace face-to-face communication

It’s no secret digital technology is taking over our lives, and real face time with friends and loved ones is decreasing because of it. The 2014 Keurig Coffee Connections Survey found that when it comes to being around family and friends, Americans said that being together in person is a favorite way to connect but sometimes technology can get in the way of enjoying in-person experiences.

Some quick survey stats:
  • People are so attached to technology that nearly two-in-five (38%) will often take a call from someone else while spending time with a loved one.
  • Nearly one-third of people surveyed will interrupt an in-person conversation to check email (31%), text someone (30%) or check their social media accounts (27%).
  • Despite all their digital connections, nearly one-third (30%) of adults admit they have not actually met more than half their social media connections in person.
  • Nearly two-thirds (65%) of Americans say it's easier to stay in touch with their closest friends and loved ones who don't live with them via social media, text or online than to meet up with them in person.
  • Americans would much rather connect with a long-lost loved one (64%) than the President (7%) or their favorite celebrity (6%).
