Today I have the neatest technology based gift idea yet!
How would you like to stream music from your phone, or computer/tablet, anywhere in your home.
AND be able to control the amount of light from one of your lamps?
Sound too hi-tech?
Nope! Meet the AwoX StriimLIGHT
Looks sorta unassuming doesn't it?
But this energy-saving LED light bulb, with its integrated Bluetooth speaker, will change how you listen to music in your house!
As you can see, thr StriimLight is much bigger than your standard (old style) light bulb.
And weight wise, you can see it is over a pound heavier than your standard bulb. Thus, it requires a socket or lamp that is sturdier enough to support it. For me, that mean only one lamp in the house, as we predominately have ceiling fans with lights, and our table lamps are on the small/bedside reading type size. Once you figure that part out, everything else is just as easy to get the light set up!
Using the StriimLight is very easy and takes about 10 minutes to set up! >First, >place the Striimlight in any standard electrical lamp (or bulb outlet, like a rear porch light). Next download the Awox set up app. As you can see, it walks you through the set up steps.
(You also get a handy remote, so you can control your Striimlight via the app, or via the remote.)
Once you complete the basic set up where the Striimlight finds your Wifi connection and links to it, it will prompt you to download the Control App for your phone (or tablet/computer). Once you download that app, it walks you through linking up your phone via Bluetooth to the Striimlight. Once it is linked, you can then listen to the music on your phone/tablet! It sounds longer than what it actually takes to do!
You can also control the strength of the light itself.
As you can see, the Striimlight puts off a pretty good amount of light. I didn't have a sturdy enough lamp to put the light in, that had a lightshade that fit over the Striimlight, so I used a sample of typical lampshade fabric, for you to see how much light still comes through the fabric.

It's hard to video yourself using your cellphone without another video camera, so, I'm showing you how you can control the light via the remote control only. Here you go:
As you can hear, the speaker is MUCH louder than you think! AND it has a really great sound!
Using the app is just as easy- you just select which file to pull your music from and select what you want to play. There is also a tab to control the light dimness.
This light is SUPER duper amazing! It would be a great housewarming gift for a young homeowner, as they could put it on a porch light for outside bbq/pool areas, or to be able to have a great speaker in the house. I adore how you can control it from any room, so if you forget to turn it off on your way out of the house, you can stop and turn it off!
