Lavender is a scent that most of us know and love.

We smell it and feel calm and relaxed.

There's a reason for that! Lavender oil is one of the most popular and versatile essential oils. It can be used for healing, cleaning, deorderizing and as a perfume! Making it a wonderful staple to have around the house.

We've recently become converts to using essential oils for 'mood therapy', as well as for homepathic uses. Miss Grace has always been partial to lavender- we used it in her bath as a baby to ease her into sleep, so we like to keep it on hand at all times.

Aromata Essential Lavender Oil

AROMATA takes pride in bringing you premium-quality essential oils. We recently got to try out their Bulgarian Therapeutic Grade Organic Lavender Oil. It is derived from lavandula angustifolia plant, the type of lavender known to produce some of the finest-quality lavender essential oils. While you may think of France as the Lavender capitol, Bulgaria's climate and untainted fields are also ideal for growing and harvesting lavender. Most importantly, Aromata Lavender Oil is all natural, organic and purity tested to ensure that nothing has been added, and the product you are using is 100%-pure essential oil. Unfortunately in today's unscrupulous market, many so called 'pure grade oils' have been cut down, cutting down their health benefits to the consumer. So Aromata's purity testing is a wonderful aspect to their oils.

Aromata Essential Lavender Oil and oil warmer

As you can see the Lavender Oil comes in a 5ml dark bottle, that protects the oil from oxidation (which reduced it's effect). The lavandula angustifolia oil has a sweet, refreshing, fruity and floral aroma,  that you want to inhale, as soon as you  open the bottle. You can literally smell the fields of lavender! Just breathing in the aroma produces a relaxing, soothing experience!

Aromata Essential Lavender Oil dropper

As you can see, the bottle has a plastic drop inner cap on it, so that you can properly get one drop out at a time, This really helps you to not waste the oil, and to mix it properly with other oils. Lavender Oil has sedative effects, as well as reducing stress and anxiety. So we like to use it in for Miss Grace's room for when she goes to sleep. Right now we are using an oil warmer, until her new mist diffuser comes in. I made my own warmer melt, with peppermint and vetiver oils, so once I add 3-4 drops of the Lavender Oil, I get what we like to call the 'bedtime mix'. The result is Miss Grace goes to sleep much quicker, falls into a deeper sleep and generally sleeps much sounder, than when she doesn't have it running.

Lavender oil is also works as a great natural therapy during allergy and cold season. For Miss Grace, using it at night means she wakes up in the morning with a lot LESS sinus drain and less sneezing and coughing! It can also be used to help soothe coughs.

The additional uses for lavender include:
diluted lavender oil can be used to treat skin conditions or irritations such as dermatitis, rashes, small cuts or wounds and sunburn or other burns.
- used to help minimize scarring and stretch marks, helping skin bounce back to normal quickly,
- relieve dry and sensitive skin

Since essential oils like this one, are highly concentrated, and everyone's skin type reacts differently to them, it's recommended to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil, before placing them directly on your skin. We prefer fractured coconut, jojoba, tea tree and olive oil. You can also dilute it in witch hazel or vodka, and make a wonderful room spray, that can also be used as a linen freshener, or to spray on your pillow before bedtime for a calmer sleep (we mix it with the vetiver for Miss Grace's bedtime linen spray)!

This is a wonderful essential oil- you can smell the difference and your body knows the difference, and responds very well to it. I can't recommend the Aromata Lavender Oil enough. If you are just starting to check out essential oils and use them, Lavender Oil is a great basic to start with, as it can be used for SO many purposes!
