Let's start with a great pack of vinyl:

TRENDY HOME #1 20 SHEET pack from Angel Craft, includes 20 6 x12 sheets (5 of each color), that fit in all die-cutting machines with the following four colors: Middle Grey, Blue Grey, Brimstone Yellow, & Light Grey. 

Angel Craft vinyl is a higher quality vinyl than you might be used to using! It is made to last with its strong 3 mil thickness. While it is best used for INDOOR applications, it can also be used OUTDOOR applications, depending on weather conditions, for short periods of time. And it's MADE IN the USA! 

Your vinyl package comes with step by step application instructions for application with and without transfer paper (sold seperately). If you are applying your vinyl on a wall or large plaque, then you might need the paper, otherwise, you can use it perfectly fine without it!

I decided to sample the vinyl, while making up Teacher Appreciation gifts for Miss Grace's tutors and Music and Dance teachers (she bought her school teacher a lovely plaque), with travel mugs that I had bought on clearance after Christmas. Miss Grace's school colors are blue and yellow, and what luck, the mugs were blue, and I had yellow vinyl (like it was all planned,,,,LOL).

As you can see the sheets fit perfectly with my Cricut' smaller size mat. I did change to the deep cut blade and changed my settings (3, 3 and 6 if you're wondering). and then installed my French manor cartridge (my new go-to one), and cut out 2 of 'merci'. With continuous cutting, there was plenty of room, as I set the size at 2 inches. As you can see above, the vinyl cut just fine, and it was easy to peel and place on the mug.

For the tutors, I added crossed keys (for helping to unlock her potential) and I have t admit, the vinyl was very easy to pull away from the intricut cut out on the tops on them! For her music teacher, I added a bird in flight (for letting the music in her soar), as I had not music notes in any of my cartridges (how that happened, I have no idea). As you can see the vinyl peeled easy, even from a 2 part design that is in sections.

For her dance teacher I changed out to the grey sheet and used a dark pink/reddish cup, to match the dance team colors better. As you can see, the fleur de lis (sized up to 3 inches), cut out without a problem and the silhouette left on the vinvyl was great for using as well, once it was cut square. Aha, a 2 for 1 bonus! I did change to the School Time cartridge to get the Thanks cut out to better match the style of the fleur de lis (and since it's Irish dance, I didn't think French Merci would be appropriate, LOL). 

Then came the fun part- I filled all the cups with iced coffee packets, mints, chocolate and calming tea packets. That way they had an instant snack and drink! It's a simple gift, but when you match a design to someone's hobby, job or personality, it means so much mroe to them. Plus being MADE (even if by Mom) makes it more special!

I'll definitely be using the vinyl all Summer long for more projects and gifts, now that I know JUST how easy it is use my cricut to cut vinyl! You will be amazed too once you try it!
