Synopsis:
As we like to say in the south,
"Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story."
Ella's life has been completely upended. She's young, beautiful, and deeply in love--until her husband dies in a tragic sailing accident while trying save her. Or so she'll have everyone believe. Screenwriter Hunter needs a hit, but crippling writers' block and a serious lack of motivation are getting him nowhere. He's on the look-out for a love story. It doesn't matter who it belongs to.
When Hunter and Ella meet in Watersend, South Carolina it feels like the perfect match, something close to fate. In Ella, Hunter finds the perfect love story, full of longing and sacrifice. It's the stuff of epic films. In Hunter, Ella finds possibility. It's an opportunity to live out a fantasy - the life she wishes she had because hers is too painful. And more real. Besides. what's a little white lie between strangers?

Review:
Once again, Patti strikes just the right note, giving us the perfect leisurely beach read for the Summer! As Hunter and Ella evolve, within their spin of lies an deceit, the reader gets swept up into their fairy tale and starts rooting for it to come true, This is one of those books that you don't want to end, and Patti obviously felt the same way, with the ending she gave it! The whole time I was reading the book i was casting the movie, and it would make a wonderful one! Kudos to Patti for giving us an adult fairy take!

ReplyDeleteNo, I've never been good at lying.
ReplyDeleteNot a chance..
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could pull it off. But, I wouldn't mind being somebody else for two weeks.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I doubt it. I try to be as honest as I can and even little white lies can be hurtful. I think it might be fun to be someone else for awhile though.
ReplyDeleteI would not feel good about it, but I might spin some white lies.
