"Before things in our lives can be resurrected and given new life, certain things must die.  Before beauty blooms in spring, roots must do the hard work under the hard frozen soil of winter.  Before you renovate and re-build, you tear down the parts of the structure that are weak or damaged or dangerous.  Before we make, we must unmake."  Nichole Nordeman

Track Listing:

1. The Unmaking- the title track, it is about rebuilding your life, when it seems that all is lost.

2. Not To Us- I love this song! I seem to be listening to songs with more orchestration and vocal range lately, and this song is a perfect fit!

3. Name- the first single, the song is a strong modern Christian song that reminds us that God knows our name, even when we think he doesn't

4. Love You More- almost an ode to scripture, it is a soaring song, with lovely orchestration to echo Nichole's voice

5. Something Out Of Me- an acoustic song, it really showcases how strong Nichole's singing is, where the other songs n the EP focused more on her songwriting

6. Slow Down- every parent will have a hard time getting through this song without crying! Nichole does a lovely job in reminding parents of how much their kids have done in their lives, and how many of those first have so many memories for us parents!

Review:

This is really more of an EP, with only the 6 tracks. Nichols took some time off from solo music to start her family and to write songs for The Story (which were sung by other artists) and a book (Love Story), and she came back with this EP, versus a full CD. It is a solid way to make her way back into the music scene, and it is a lovely disc and one that you may find yourself playing during the day. I was thrilled to see lyrics in the CD inset, so that you can read them and see how astounding the words are on their own! Miss Grace loves the CD as much as I do, so it makes for some great early morning on the way to school daily devotion for both of us, eyt one that will keep your feet tapping! Don't miss this EP!
