If you're like me, you may be wondering just WHAT your kids got into during school, when you start doing laundry and trying to figure if it's dirt, maker, food or what on their dirty clothes.

Course, that is IF you spotted the stain, right?

With the busy extra curricular season, you may not have a chance to spot check every piece of clothing, am I right?

Consumer Reports understands your pain, so they recently did a detergent test, looking for the detergent that was great at getting out those unseen stains. You might be surprised at which detergent came out on top:

persil proclean 2n1

Yup- the popular selling Europe detergent beat out Tide for the #1 spot this year! Not only does it cost the same as Tide, it performs just as well on grass, ring-around-the-collar, chocolate, and tea stains. But it excelled on blood stains, putting it on top!

With the power-packed combination of Persil detergent plus Pro-Lift Technology 2in1 is the most powerful stain-fighting Persil detergent available. Persil 2in1 laundry detergent is great for everyday laundry and has a power-boosted formula to help fight tough stains, that find their way into your kids' laundry!

How well does it work in real life?

That is a picture of a load of Miss Grace's school and after school clothes. And yes, that water is GREY from all the dirt the Persil had lifted out in just 3 minutes of washing! Shocked? I was too! It was almost like it was getting out dirt that had been left over from the previous wash! But I thought no, can't be, so I used the Persil in a load of whites, towels and jeans, and my uniforms. And the results were all the same- water that had a lot of dirt removed, clothes that were SUPER clean, and that had a great clean smell, which stayed for a week on the clothes, easy!

If you need fragrance free, Persil has you covered with their Persil ProClean Sensitive Skin formula which is 100% dye free and gentle. The ProClean line also has other fragrances. The ProClean line is less expensive than the 2n1, but it still cleans well, it just doesn't have the supreme stain lifter in it. They also have a ProCaps line for those that prefer detergent in premeasured capsule form.

For supreme white cleaning, their Persil ProClean Power Pearls formula is made to be more compatible with bleach  for use in warm and hot water to really get rid of tough grass and blood stains. So it would be your go-to for cleaning those sports pants!

Persil is optimized for use in all washing machine types, including high efficiency (HE) washers, and for use with white and colored laundry, so it is literally your one stop detergent! It is available exclusively at Walmart, which means you can get it locally! Later on, it will be expanded out into other retailers in the US.

Persil may cost a bit more than the detergent you use now, but when you see HOW well it cleans, you will be sold. It might even save you some money, if you do less laundry because you don't have to wash your clothes repeatedly to get out stains and dirt! AND they offer a great money back guarantee! How many detergents offer that?  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get special coupons and sale notices as well!

I really can't recommend this detergent enough for getting out stains and dirt better than any other ones I've tried! Once you try it, you'll be hooked too!

  1. I have never heard of this detergent before but it sounds as if it truly is a winner. Most of the time Tide is too expensive for me so this is probably out of my price range. But I am still going to keep my eye out for it. It would be good to have on hand for really dirty laundry or blood stains.

  2. Having 5 kids, I need to try this. Not to mention, I have to wear white dress shirts to work in a restaurant every day. I have issues with getting the stains out of the sleeve cuffs and have sprayed, etc. This may be the ticket for me.
