Breast cancer awareness doesn't just last a month for most women.

The time from the initial mammogram, to final treatment, can sometimes be over a year.

So isn't it important to not just think about breast cancer in October, but ALL year round?

Did you know?

- In fact, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

- Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.

- Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.

- 1 in every 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer (something that tends to get overlooked).

The Good News:

- Death rates from breast cancer have been declining since about 1990, in part due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options.

- Right now there are nearly 3 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

- When detected and treated early, 5-year relative survival for localized breast cancer is 98.5%!

With specially designed Breast Cancer Welcome Mats,  Carpet One Floor & Home stores throughout the U.S., >have raised almost a million dollars (25 percent of the proceeds go to research) in the past 10 years to support breast cancer research, via donations to the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

With these mats you can remember breast cancer victims ALL year round!

Each 2’ by 3’ mat features a pink ribbon to remind people of the cause it supports. They can be used indoor AND outdoor! Check out some of the new designs:

We were sent the new Welcome Mat Branches to check out, and as you can see, it has the  PERFECT coloring for the Fall into Christmas season!

These mats are tough, functional and really sturdy- they have plastic nubs underneath, that help them to grab into carpet, if you choose to place the mat inside your door, like we do. We actually have found this to work really well for grabbing dirt, sand and leaves, that the outside mat doesn't grab. That means less vacuuming for me!

All the welcome mats are stain and water resistant and machine washable (which I know very well, having to keep up them at the front and back doors, I swear the kid makes more mess than the animals!), which means they really standup to everything you can dish out to them!

The mats are made in the USA, so you can be proud of them, in more ways than one!

Not only do they support a great cause, the clever designs make a beautiful and functional personal style statement. Which means they make very unique housewarming and holiday gift ideas, especially for hostess gift this time of year! It a gift that will keep on giving, and remind the lucky recipient of how much you careAnd that is something we can all support!
