We've reviewed some of the popular 'adult' and kid based doodle art coloring books here at BTHM, but this new book rates as our favorite!

Synopsis:

Korean artist Daria Song’s sequel to The Time Garden takes readers on a visual journey into a magical nighttime world seen through the eyes of a fairy.

This second book in the bestselling Time coloring series features the voyage of a fairy who, when the cuckoo clock chimes midnight, enters the human world. To the tiny fairy, everything seems enormous and magical, from the curtains to the chandelier to a mystical rowboat that takes her further into an inky adventure. With her she packs her favorite items, which colorers can find throughout the book’s pages: an owl-feathered pen, a star-scented spray, a time tape measure…even the key to the time chamber itself!

Filled with the imaginative, intricately detailed illustrations Song’s readers have come to love, The Time Chamber presents a view of our world made new—and ready for coloring.

The Time Chamber features extra-thick craft paper, ideal for non bleed-through coloring, and the jacketed cover with flaps is removable and colorable. Special gold-foil stamping on the cover and spine and a To/From page make it perfect for gifting to adults and kids alike.

Review:

As you can see, the pages in this book are flat out STUNNING! You seriously could carefully cut them out and frame them when you are done, and place them in your daughter's nursery/room! Like the example above, the pages with the little fairy peeking out from objects creates a look that all mother's love ad find endearing.

Add to that the fun of hidden treasures among the flora, and you have a book that enriches as it spurs your creativity! Do you see the owl above?

You may find yourself isolating smaller pieces from each page for framing by themselves, everywhere in your house! The book has a 'steampunk' crossed with fairy  crossed with wonder of childhood feel, and yet the amazing designs could easily go into any decor, depending on how they were colored- pen, pencil, watercolor, monochromatic or vivid color!

This is the one coloring book that ALL ages will drool over the illustrations, and then be enchanted by the simple story and treasure hunt. Looking for an unique hostess gift or for a secret santa/co-worker one? Add some bright color pencils to this book, and you have a gift that will keep on giving! We can't recommend it enough!

Freebie!

You can head on over to Read About It! and download TWO pages from this book and it's prequel!
Hint: they would make a really cool gift wrap for small packages!

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I ordered my sister an adult coloring book earlier in the year and have never been more disappointed with anything in my life. The pages inside were nothing like the cover and I actually ended up throwing it away. There was no way I was giving it to her. But this, now this is more like it! And I could print out a couple of pages to check it out and give to her should I not be able to get it in time for the holidays! Yay!
