Mardi Gras is known the world over, and known as a triad of three colors: purple, gold and green.
Do you know what they stand for?
If you live in Louisiana, or the Gulf South you do.
In 1872 the Krewe of Rex was formed to select a 'King' of the Mardi Gras season. The Krewe then selected the three soon to be official Mardi Gras, as a way of honoring Russian Grand Duke Alexis Alexis Alexandrovich Romanoff, who was visiting and scheduled to be at the parade. And his Romanoff royal colors were purple, green and gold. So then the colors were selected to always represent Mardi Gras as such:
Purple Represents Justice.
Green Represents Faith.
Gold Represents Power.
Which explains why you see the Kings and Queens on the different krewes - each decided to have their own King and Queen, and royal court as well. In fact, the royal courtfrom the Krewe of Rex meets the royal court of the Krewe of Comus (the oldest krewe), symbolizing the end of the Mardi Gras season. So a crown is also a Mardi Gras symbol.
So how can you ring in the Mardi Gras season where you are?
The french wires are also textured with Cubic Zirconias, adding to the royal look.
