Take a Bite Out of Valentine's Day, Prehistoric Style!

It can be hard to get a great gift for young boys on Valentine's Day without resorting to candy, can't it?

This kit is very much like the Human Body Factivity set, also from Parragon, that we recently reviewed. It contains a skeleton kit and activity/discovery book, just like the other kit.

The book is filled with lots of fun and really great facts. Miss Grace was impressed with the facts she had not read before. The activities also include making your own dinosaur out of paper and fun mazes involving tracking different footprints. Miss Grace liked having the cartoon kids point out unique points, as it reminded her one one of her favorite dinosaur shows.

Like the Human Body Factivity, you get a simple diagram for the instruction sheet. Which is perfectly fine in this case, as their are fewer pieces to put together ("yeah!", said Mom! LOL).

I was pretty impressed with how the skeleton has 'cracks' in it, to imitate the actual look of real fossils! As you can see above, the joints are very large, and the end pieces can go into them quite easily.

Overall this is a very fun kit, that teaches as it entertains- a hallmark of the Discovery Kids product line- and something we try to think about when giving gifts. It is perfect for giving to your favorite dinosaur lover/archeologist in the making for Valentine's Day, instead of candy!
