Frosty Pillow Gel Mat from Angel Baby!

The  Frosty Pillow Gel Mat is cool gel pillow mat that is designed to not only be soft on your skin, to help you get a great night's rest. Made of an ultra-comfortable cotton-blend, it's like sleeping on cool air! It comes in 2 sizes- adult and toddler.

The Frosty Pillow Gel Mat is not only cool to the touch, all the time, it can help bring down fevers, reduces migraines,  hot flashes, and relieve neck pain. Unlike other sleeping mats that are filled with water that we've reviewed, this premium mat is filled with a safe gel that won't leak, that stays IN place, and WON"T bunch up while you are sleeping (which would cause more pain and aches)!

Contouring to your body and your pillow, the Frosty Pillow Gel Mat fits inside your pillowcase or lies on top of the pillow itself (just put it in the included FREE storage cover) whichever you choose, it's flexible enough to relax your head and neck. And as you can see from the pictures above, it covers even a king size pillow, so no matter which way you roll, you have cooling comfort!

To use the Frosty Pillow Gel Mat you simply place it in your fridge or freezer for a while, then take it out and lay on it to enjoy its cooling sensation. This is really the only drawback, in that it is recommended to have it in the fridge/freezer for an HOUR before using. When a migraine hits, you want it chilled now, not later. Now you CAN keep it in the fridge all the time, BUT it has to be kept flat. And if you're like us, keeping a large item flat in the fridge is NOT gonna happen, freezer maybe, fridge, no, So if you are buying it for migraines, keep this in mind.  For reducing hot flashes, putting the mat in the fridge or freezer, for an hour before bedtime is no problem. If you are using it to chill inflammation, then again, knowing it will be there later when you are resting is fine. But immediate migraine relief? No

The cover of the mat is supposed to keep fridge smells out, but I think strong smells will be there til you wipe it down. Which is what we do anyways each time we use it- we use a lavender based spray. It helps with combating any smell from the mat itself (some people claim it has a 'plasticy' smell. And it helps induce calm, which helps you sleep and reduce migraine pain. Add some peppermint, and it will help it work even quicker on your migraine!

As to how long the cool lasts- it depends. When Miss Grace used it the first night, it had only 45 min in the freezer, and it lasted 2 hours solid, taking away her headache and letting her go into a deep sleep. After that it was cool to the touch, but not COLD, as it had been The second night she tried it, she was running a low temp and it only seemed to really stay cool about an hour and a half. But then she puts out a HUGE amount of body heat, and that may be why she didn't get very much cooling. Now when I tried it on a pre-migraine headache, I got about 3 and a half hours of coolness, which was more than enough to help ease the pain away. We also tried it with knee pain on Miss Grace, and discovered that it really help to 'ice' down the pain, without having to have an ice bag sitting on her knee, and that by being able to wrap it around the knee, all the inflammation was treated, adding to a quicker recovery.

Overall, we've both been impressed with how flat the mat stays, how well it stays in place, and how well it works to help you relax and drift off to sleep, or to ease pain. If there was a way to keep it in the freezer (preferably folded to take up less space) all the time, to have it ready at a moments notice, it would be even better! perhaps when the update the design, that is something they can consider.
