Today I have something NEW, from a brand that is a long-time pantry staple in our house- Wish-Bone!

Chefs and food lovers everywhere seek out extra virgin olive oil because of its extremely high quality.  Wish-Bone, makers of the #1 Italian dressing, that we all love and have in the pantry, saw this trend and decided to combine it with their signature “flavor you can see” spices and seasoning, to a new line of dressings made with this in-demand ingredient.

Wish-Bone E.V.O.O. collection

Extra virgin olive oil comes from the first pressing of olives, picked at the peak of ripeness to capture maximum flavor.  Add the Wish-Bone flavorable seasonings, and these dressings are a great choice to enhance any salad, marinade or recipe.

We were sent this ADORABLE sample box. Seriously look at the little red cups. I know you Southerner tail-gaters just went 'awwww"! But they were great for pouring some of the oil in and then all of us tasting them with a piece of French bread!

The new EVOO varieties include:
  • Garlic Basil Italian flavors of Basil, Garlic & Romano Cheese
  • Roasted Red Pepper  flavors of Roasted Red Pepper, Garlic & Red Wine Vinegar
  • Lemon Herb flavors of Lemon, Honey & Herbs
  • Sundried Tomato flavors of Sun Dried Tomato, Garlic, Herbs & Red Wine Vinegar,
  • Caesar Vinaigrette- flavors of Parmesan & Romano Cheese, Garlic & Cracked Black Pepper

Wish-Bone E.V.O.O. and roll ups

I had decided to make some roll ups for lunch, after we sampled all the flavors, so we each picked a fav and I added it to the roll ups. Miss Grace and I picked Caesar, while Dad picked Sundried Tomato. I made the rollups as usual, but sprinkled the EVOO over the lettuce, so a kick to each! They were yummy and the EVOO definitely kicked them up from being ho-hum!

I also sauteed some red peppers and onions in the Sun Dried Tomato EVOO for adding to a beef and gravy dish that we make, and once again, the flavors just POPPED!

Wish-Bone has developed one-bottle recipe ideas to make different components of a meal, all dressed with E.V.O.O. dressings. In fact, they have at least one recipe on their website, for each of the five unique, delicious flavor varieties! They can be found on the different product pages and include a Mediterranean Chickpea Salad, Harvest Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Quinoa Chicken Salad Bowl,  Garlic Basil Mozzarella Stackers, 20 Minute Potato Salad, Sriracha Red Pepper Marinated Skirt Steak, Italian Marinated Roast Chicken, Herb Marinated Steak and more!

I picked one of the recipes for Main Dish and substituted pork cops for the chicken breasts:

Crispy Ceasar Chicken Breasts

1 bottle Wish-Bone E.V.O.O Caesar Vinaigrette Dressing, divided
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut in half and pounded thin
1 cup whole wheat seasoned bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 400°F. Place breadcrumbs in pie plate. Pour ½ cup Dressing into shallow bowl. Dip chicken breasts into dressing then place in breadcrumbs, pressing down to coat. Arrange on baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes or until chicken is golden brown and cooked.

Wish-Bone E.V.O.O. chops

But what we also did was to sample ALL of the different flavors, using the same method as above!

Miss Grace was helping me and forgot to shake the bottle before pouring it into the bowl, hence the separation you see in the left photo. You do need to do that before using any of the oils. Also once you open them, they need to be stored in the fridge, and then when removed, allowed to sit for 5 minutes and then shaken again,

So we had 5 chops to all try! It was actually a fun little experiment, and a method of cooking, I had never thought of! It worked really well too! ultimately we decided Garlic and Basil and Roasted Red Pepper were our favs from the 5 picks. Lemon Pepper had a great taste but was overpowering.

We also tried the SunDried Tomato on a simple steak, as a quick marinade, and it worked really great for bringing out extra flavor when the steaks were grilled! The EVOOs would be great added to recipes while camping too (like the foil wrapped ones I shared with you earlier today)!

So if you are looking to spice up your family meals this Summer, check out this new line from Wish-Bone, and make some new family favorite dishes!

  1. I just saw the new EVOO varieties in my grocery store. They do look great to try. I would try the Sundried Tomato flavors of Sun Dried Tomato, Garlic, Herbs & Red Wine Vinegar flavor. My son and husband would enjoy the Crispy Caesar Chicken Breasts recipe too.
