And speaking of teeth.............
This new book kit came out last month and it's perfect for keeping boredom at bay this Summer!
Journey into the amazing underwater world of sharks! Learn the facts, admire the full-color photos, and more along this incredible journey of discovery. Then collect the terrifying shark teeth and put them and your knowledge on display!
As you can see, you get 6 shark's teeth and the book "The Underwater World of Sharks" in this Shark Factivity set.
For being a smaller book, you get a LOT of info (over 400 facts!), in this book! As you can see from the collage above, there are some pretty impressive pictures of sharks in their natural habitats, info on distinguishing between different types of sharks (which could be pretty important if you're not sure on what type of shark is heading for you! LOL), areas where different sharks are (might be a bit surprising for some of you). fact sheets to dispute false assumptions about sharks and bifold pages on the different types of sharks.
As you can see from this sample bi-fold page, you get all the basic info on that breed of shark, where they live, what they eat (pretty important), the depths they swim in and more. The shark above is one that is pretty common, so Miss Grace was eager to read all about it!
All in all, Miss Grace gave the set a high thumbs up, not only for fun, but for a lot of information she didn't know about sharks! The shark teeth also added a fun twist, making her look for which shark they belonged to. The teeth are pretty realistic, as you can see above, and kids will have a lot of fun with them too!
From a parenting perspective, this is a fun set to get your child not only reading this Summer (I'm sure many of you are fighting by now to keep your child reading), but to have them doing a little STEM research/analysis! And that is always a good thing when learning is FUN! Follow it up with a field trip to the local aquarium, and see how much they can tell you about the different sharks there! Maybe offer an incentive, if they can remember 3 facts about each?
This is set would also be great for gift giving if you have a child with a birthday this Summer, or if you need to get a gift for child in the 6-11 age bracket! We can't recommend it enough!
