We LOVE and adore Inkspirations wonderful coloring books and this year they have added an amazing new holiday coloring book, that is just PERFECT for adding into your Advent studies- allowing kids to make their own gift tags and ornaments, as well as special gifts to give!

In fact, you MIGHT just have a hard time letting the kids have this book!

You might just want to seeze it for yourself!

Christmas is a time of magic, and now  you can color your season even brighter with more than thirty original, festive designs, plus 12 pages of DIY projects including color-your-own gift tags (like the ones below), postcards, wine tags and more! From highly detailed to fun and free-flowing, each design will deck your heart and home with the holiday spirit.

Designs include: Christmas trees to make your own; winter wonderlands, polar bears and penguins; charming gingerbread houses, wreaths, and stockings; whimsical scenes of snowmen and ugly Christmas sweaters; a Santa sighting or two, plus heartwarming expressions of holiday cheer written in exquisite typography. As you can see the detail is pretty amazing!

All of the pages are perforated for easy tearing and sharing, to frame or hang on the fridge. Making this a PERFECT book for the kids to use for gift giving purposes! The pages are of a decent weight, and will adhere nicely to canvas or other flat material! They will take pencil, pen or crayon all nicely. I would recommend adhereing them to your preferred background BEFORE using water color or pastel though.

I've also impressed with the "lay-flat" binding, that keeps the book from coming back on your hands, while you are trying to color detailed pieces. This also means you don't have to hold it down with your arm (something kids tend to hav to do!). It also keeps you from having any type of 'ridge' showing up in the left side of the coloring page, after you've finished!

Another great detail is that the artist, Kristin van Lieshout, has also provided some colored pages, so you can get some ideas for shading, color schemes and general look of the piece, before you decide how to color it! You don't HAVE to color them the same way- they are just for inspiration!

I really can't recommend this book enough- it's more of a folk-art traditional Christmas book, and one that the whole family will love. It also would be an wonderful hostess gift, with a set of colored pencils or pens, to give for Thanksgiving, to let your wonderful family member/friend, get ready for the holidays and to de-stress! It would also be a great road-trip busy book for the kids, so don't miss this one!

About Kristin:

I love art! I grew up in a family of artists, with both my parents being professors of art, and my sister, and brother also being artists themselves. In university, I studied art and received my Bachelors degree in Fine Art in 2009, then went on to get my Masters in Fine Art, graduating in 2010. I believe God gives all of us gifts and talents to be used for His glory, and I hope my art can accomplish such a goal--to inspire others to love beauty, enjoy art, and worship the one True Artist and Creator of all...I love all sorts of mediums but my favorite is watercolor. There is a spontaneous and free look you get with watercolor that you can not get with any other medium. It's inspiring to work with, colorful and feeds the imagination...

Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year! Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved every part of it: the sweet smells of cinnamon and pine needles, hot apple cider boiling on the stove, helping my mom unwrap all the ornaments and decorate our tree, drinking hot cocoa and watching lights twinkle while singing Christmas carols―and the list could go on! One of my favorite family traditions was creating art together during Christmas. Whether it was making ornaments with homemade play dough, painting wooden rocking horses, or cutting snowflakes out of paper, it was always a special time with family as we celebrated the joy of the season.
It's my hope as you spend time in these pages that you will experience that same joy of Christmas―that you will relax, have fun, and be renewed as you create; and most importantly, that you will be reminded of the true reason we celebrate this special day―our Savior and True Hope coming into the world to save us! Thank you for letting me share my art with you, and may you have a blessed and merry Christmas!
