EASTER GIFT IDEAS

Does your high school senior nervously gulp when asked what his or her life plans are?

Give him or her encouragement and peace of mind with Jonathan Morrow's Welcome to College, what J. P. Moreland calls "the single best volume I have ever read for preparing students for how to follow Jesus and flourish as his disciple in college."

Is there a more frightening question for a graduating high school senior than "What will you do with your life?"
In college, whether they realize it or not, students will answer that question every day with each decision. All of the new friends and new experiences of higher education will shape their future. It's critical that students know how to handle college before they're in the thick of it.
Jonathan Morrow tackles the tough questions that arise during these formative years, including:
-How do you grow spiritually?
-How do you manage your time to both study well and have fun?
-Is all truth relative?
-Are there good reasons to be a Christian?
-As a Christian, how should you view issues like dating and sex?
Each chapter of this new edition has been updated, and the author has included a new chapter on Christianity, homosexuality, and the Bible. Grounded in both his own extensive experience and biblical truth, Morrow's book is full of quick, easy-to-read chapters and excellent advice.
Review:

College can be SO SO SO overwhelming! This book is JUST the thing to give to teens, looking at college in the next couple of years, or in the Fall. It truly helps get them (and you, trust me you need to read it together) ready for all the changes that college will bring to their lives! If nothing else, checking out the 'Bog Points' at the end of the chapters, which summarize them, can offer parents a great way to start conversations, knowing what was talked about and discussed.

The chapters are not very long, and are actually perfect for taking as a bible study each week, leading up to the kids taking off to college, during Senior year, if you home school, or as a family bible study, as the aim of the book is for kids to remember their faith, and how it will get them through anything, and serves as their foundation to compare the unknown to (and you know in college a LOT of that will happen). Sample chapters include Why Moral Relativism is Bad", "Knowing Versus Showing Your Faith", " The Problem of Evil and Suffering", and "dealing with Doubt". Just those sample chapters encompass SO many things teens, especially those of strong faiths, will have to deal with in college! Each chapter also includes books for further discussion in the areas the chapter discussed, which is great if you need more discussion on that topic!

All in all the book is a SUPER way for parents to help their teens to work through possible scenarios BEFORE they happen in college (which is usually far away from home), and allow them to know HOW to handle and respond, before they get in a predicament that stymies them, and tests their faith. It would be a super addition to the Easter basket this year too, and we HIGHLY recommend it
