We received a Purex Complete 3-in-1™ Laundry Sheet sample pack in the mail last week and were eager to try them, as we had just switched back the Purex liquid not even 2 weeks before (can you believe it if 25% CHEAPER than Tide in out local stores? AND it cleans JUST as well as Tide OR Cheer!). The 3-in-1 packs are not as inexpensive as the liquid, but if you factor in the cost of liquid softener, dryer sheets and detergent, it's not too bad of an expense, just not one we wanted to try at full price!
The 3-in-1s come in three scents and are available in two package types – a Starter Kit (1 Dispenser + 20 Laundry Sheets) and a value Refill Pouch (24 Laundry Sheets).
They come in 3 scents:
1. Spring Oasis: nature-inspired fragrance with fresh citrus and flowers, like a clean morning breeze. (Which we were sent to sample)- If you take the regular Purex smell and add a clean linen type smell to it, you've got what it smells like!
2. Tropical Escape: an Island-inspired watery clean scent with a hint of exotic fruit freshness.
3. Pure & Clean: in the white packs- 100% hypoallergenic with a subtle fresh, clean scent. Perfect for people with sensitive skin.
To use:
We tried it on a combo load of perma-press and a couple of hand towels, thinking it would be a great way to determine how it did. I checked during the wash cycle and you would not believe the dirt it got out of the clothes! At the end of the wash load, the clothes were clean and smelled great! So into the dryer it all went (the sheet was now all white, as the detergent (blue) and softener (green) were gone. When the dryer was done I removed soft, great smelling clothes that coulda fooled anyone into thinking they had been done the normal way!
The next day I still had the sheet on the dryer and threw it in with a small load of daughters clothes and guess what? It STILL softened like a dryer sheet- the clothes came out great! So you CAN get 1 1/2 dryer loads from it as a dryer sheet!
I was VERY impressed and these are definitely an option to consider for perma-press, towels, work clothes and daughters clothes. I wouldn't use them on bath towels as you shouldn't use softener or dryer sheets with them (reduces their absorbency!). And I'm not sold on use with whites, as we bleach our whites and I think I would want more softener than what is on the strip. But overall, I will definitely buy them!
BUDGET SAVER ALERT: CVS' ad on Sunday had a coupon for if you bought one back, you got one free! And if you go to Purex's website and you can print out a coupon, so you;d REALLY save a bundle to try 40 of them (not sure if CVS will let you get a starter pack and a refill!)
Disclosure: I received this sample in the mail, the same as any consumer could have requested thru an advertised campaign by Purex. I was NOT given any compensation for this review, nor told how to review it, in return for the free sample.
