Today we're talking about LEGENDS in the music business,
who are still entertaining us!

melody road cover

Neil Diamond, one of the world’s premiere recording artists, internationally renowned and record-breaking concert performer and revered songwriter, is set to release his brand new studio album, Melody Road, tomorrow!

The album, marks his first original studio release in six years, and first since signing with Capitol Records.  Acclaimed producers Don Was and Jacknife Lee co-produced the album. In addition, there is a special 36-page lyric book, with guitar chords included in the packaging of each album. So you can play along with the songs! If you place an Amazon pre-order, you'll receive a special code, that will give you early access to purchase concert tickets for the 2015 tour! As tickets for his tours generally sell out within 20-30 minutes of being live, that is a super thing! It can also be ore-ordered on iTunes (for only $7.99)!

"It takes tremendous vision, focus and determination - combined with a mega-dose of God-given talent, charisma and soul - to create music that becomes indelibly ingrained in the fabric of our culture,” shared Melody Road co-producer and Blue Note President Don Was.  “For decade after decade, Neil's songs have been such a major part of our lives. Making this record with him has served as a profound reminder of what a powerful and amazing artist he truly is," he continued.

Songs are the album include:
Melody Road
First Time
Seongah and Jimmy
Something Blue
Nothing But a Heartache
In Better Days
(OOO) Do I Wanna Be Yours
Alone At the Ball
Sunny Disposition
Marry Me Now
The Art of Love
Melody Road (Reprise)

This is very much a compilation album to me- I hear songs that remind me of others that Neil has written over the years. The songs speak to his life's experiences, yet are everyone's experiences as well. The overall feel of the album is what I consider pop-not the modern definition! It is light hearted music that will get your toes tapping and you singing along (especially First Time)- it is an album that all ages can listen to. What a relief that is in today's music spectrum! And yes, some of the tracks can tend to the 'sugary, gooey" pop (Seongah and Jimmy), but at the same time, isn't that what we LOVE Neil Diamond for? For the dramatic outpouring of love, no matter how silly?  His lyrics are always what we feel deep down, just never say (Marry Me Now)! Listening to the album, you realize how talented Neil is, and how the older artists are so multi- talented, and what we are loosing, as more and more of them retire from the music industry. It's hard to say which song is my favorite! I love Alone at the Ball, Melody Road and First Time equally! And for me, that's typical- I can never pull a favorite from any of Neil's albums! He's just too good of a song-writer!

This is a great new album to add to your holiday gift giving list, especially for friends and relatives that have been huge fans of Neil Diamond! So be sure to pick it up!
