I LOVE getting FREE stuff in the mail- it's like hitting a lottery when you open the envelope/box isn't it?
Well, this past week General Mills provided me with a gift pack of 4 free cereals through MyBlogSpark, to showcase, and introduce me to, their new commitment to reduce sugar in their cereals.
General Mills wants to help your family come together at the breakfast table every morning in a more healthy way, so they have further reduced the amount of sugar in cereals, that are advertised to kids under 12, to single digit grams of sugar per serving. These cereals include Trix, Apple-Cinammon Cheerios, Lucky Charms (regular and chocolate), FrankenBerry, BooBerry, Cocoa Puffs, Reese Puffs, Cookie Crisp, and Frosted Cheerios. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.
Did you know that ready-to-eat cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters? Cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children´s diets.
Other cereal benefits:
For more information about kids and cereals, please visit Cereal Health and Wellness.
We are fans of Honey Nut Cheerios and Chex in our house, and one of the reasons my daughter hasn't been allowed any of the 'kids' cereals, is because of the sugar content, so I was curious as to how the reduced sugar cereals would taste! I can happily report that the reduced sugar has only made them taste BETTER- I always thought they were too sweet, and now you have more apple flavor to them!
Right now, if you visit here you will find a $1 off coupon for one of four General Mills cereals.
And as we're floating in cereal, I am going to give two of my followers, one each of the coupons I received, for a free box of cereal! That's right you win, you get free cereal!
In order to win, you have to help spread the word!
