PIP/ Product Review/ Giveaway/CLOSED: Community Coffee and Tumbler

Ahhhhh....the smell of Community Coffee in the morning...........

It's as natural and part of the atmosphere you live in New Orleans!

Community Coffee goes back to 1919 when it was founded in the Baton Rouge area, but for generations it has been the coffee most of Southern Louisiana drinks! In 1980, Community introduced the nation's first vacuum-sealed coffee package-showing what an industry leader they have become!

So when I found out about a great opportunity to work with Community I did my Happy Dance and sent off an email! I was SO happy when Blair over at CC (how they are known in our area) offered a great prize pack to my readers AND for me to review! I was able to select some coffees I had not tried before and a tumbler to replace my previous CC one that made it thru 5 years before succumbing to a fatal and nasty death under the wheels of a Ford Expedition (that's a story that we'll save for another day)!

So for my "Welcome to Spring in New Orleans" Gift Package I selected the following:

1. CC Breakfast Blend Coffee- Breakfast blend is medium-bodied, but smoothly mellowed flavor, it is a distinctive way to ease into the day. Our Breakfast Blend begins with an exclusive combination of the finest 100% Arabica coffee beans from around the world. These beans are shade grown under the canopy of tall trees at high altitudes so they ripen more slowly for a richer flavor. Then the beans are carefully roasted until they have a nice, medium-dark color and acidity.

This is THE breakfast blend- it is smooth yet rich at the same time, giving you a QUALITY cup of coffee. I even brought it to work and long time CC drinkers with different preferences, all agreed that this was a blend they would buy and alternate with! This coffee will wake you up and keep you going thru out the morning!

2. Pecan Praline Flavored Coffee-  Steeped in the Southern flavors of creamy pralines and sweet pecans, our Pecan Praline flavored coffee is a truly delightful Southern treat. Medium dark color and medium acidity.

Not everybody is a fan of flavored coffee, but this one is really smooth! As a matter of fact, all I did was use a smidge of creamer, I didn't need very much! The best way I can describe it is it's like the breakfast blend with flavor! The smell of it brewing is VERY enticing, so don't be surprised if your neighbors stop in to chat!

3.  Mocha- Java Private Reserve Blend- This marriage of two distinctive coffees is medium-dark roasted to highlight the complex aromas and bittersweet hints of cocoa, typical of Mocha coffees, and the full-bodied earthiness found in the coffees of Indonesia. Medium acidity. Comes as WHOLE BEAN.

WOW- love love love this speciality blend! When you grind the beans you get such a wonderful aroma, that it almost dulls the need for a cup of coffee, but then you think, yum, I MUST have a cup of this! And then you make it and reexperience that WOW yumminess! The chocolate is not intense but helps to accentuate the great coffee beans used, for a cup of coffee that sets itself apart from the pack!


and finally THE coffee tumbler:

4. Fleur-de-lis Tumbler-  newly added is this premium fleur-de-lis travel tumbler to the CC collection. It is perfect for the coffee connoisseurs who want to show their Louisiana pride. It holds 16 ounces of coffee, has an eye-catching, ergonomic design, features a swivel lid and is microwavable. Please note that this product is NOT spill-proof. Is this not the prettiest coffee tumbler you've seen in a long time??? AND when they say 16 oz they mean it! Fill this tumbler up and you won;t be running to the coffee pot so much! 
I love the wavy design which ACTUALLY makes it easier to hold and I've had less 'coffee burn' due to the way the sip area is molded! While it isn't spillproof, you can close the lid to keep the coffee hot (which it does for a LONG time) and reduces the spill factor a great deal. I haven't microwaved mine- I usually finish the coffee before it needs that! But it has such great sturdy construction it should survive it just fine!
