I had heard alot about a new product, Skin MD Natural Sheilding Lotion,  on different blogs that I follow and wondered if it could help my mom's skin condition (very dry due to thyroid condition). But alas, I was not able to win a bottle on any of the blogs I tried to win giveaways on. Then JUST as I was thinking to buy her some, I got contacted by the company to do a review. WOO HOO!!!! Yes, please!

Skin MD Natural is a shielding lotion.

A shielding lotion is unlike any other conventional, artificial moisturizers, because it works with the skin to naturally moisturize and heal. Most conventional, artificial moisturizers only add moisture to the surface of the skin, but do little to repair the skin's natural barrier against moisture robbing irritants ( and most leave you with that greasy icky feeling on your skin, because they DON'T sink in, they COAT the surface!).

Skin MD Natural breaks the dry skin cycle by working to help restore skin's natural protective abilities by bonding to the outer layer of skin, strengthening skins natural barrier against toxins and irritants that can dry the skin, while locking in the skin's natural oils.

The primary function of the outer layer of skin is to prevent irritants from penetrating while still allowing the skin to breathe. Common household products, harsh soaps and antibacterial agents strip the natural oils and moisture from the skin. As a result it becomes more susceptible to irritants penetrating and stripping out even more moisture and oils.

Skin MD Natural becomes part of the outer layer of skin to restore this natural function. Glycerin has been the standard against which all humectants are measured. Until now no other humectant drew in as much moisture from the air as glycerin. But the proprietary formulation in Skin MD Natural has a moisturizing factor of at least 6 times greater than glycerin. I tried it our first the day I got it in the mail! Because of the way I sit at my desk at work (low counters) and at home (higher desk) it seems the same part of my arms, above the elbows and to the outside, gets dry and itchy/flaky during the winter and summer months. SO SkinMD to the rescue! After only THREE days of using it on my elbows, the itch was GONE, the dryness was GONE and NO flakiness! That's right- 100% hydrated and back to normal! Then it was Mom's turn. After only a couple of applications to her feet she could see the difference just as I could!
