Toddler Crafts: Crafting a Button Necklace

Being gone for 3 days was hard for my daughter (and Mommy!), as Mommy had never been gone that long WITHOUT her before! So I knew we would be doing some extra bonding once I got back!

I had read a post recently on another site about making button necklaces and thought hmmm...
that would be a good idea as I have a jar of hubby's Grandma's old buttons that his mom gave me...

So we went and got some braided cord and came home and got to crafting!

Basically you are stringing buttons on the cord, through 2 of the thread holes- all the buttons for this style necklace have either 2 or 4 thread holes. Do not use buttons with thread holes on backs only.

As you can see we strung them thru the holes and slid them down and moved on to the next button. For an older child or an adult, I would make a knot once you have the button where you want it, so
it would stay put!

Wala- one easy craft and one happy daughter!
AND a tradition of using buttons for crafting continued!
