Product Review and Giveaway: Best Pals Dolls, CD and Tea Set

Today is about the kids! Yes, I know, I know, they got ALL the stuff at Christmas didn't they? But what do you do if you have a kid who's birthday is coming up in the next 2-3 months? You either hold back presents (making them think Santa didn't pay attention) or buy extra, right? What if you want something REALLY unique for your little girl or little boy? Well I have found the answer for you! BEST PALS! 

BestPals are the brain child of Kathy and Janet Lennon (yes, of THE Lennon sisters! I know- if you didn't watch Lawrence Welk with your grandparents you are confused- go check them out on the internet and come back, ok? LOL). Based on their own lifelong friendship, their love for a pair of handmade ragdolls, and their concern for the lack of non-electronic toys in the marketplace, Kathy and Janet launched their own children’s product line.

With a host of awards from the National Parenting Center, and Creative Child, among others,  the product line has been recognized by parents, educators and children for outstanding play value.  The soft ragdolls are identical to a set of dolls that were given to Kathy and Janet in 1949, which were handmade for them by their mother and their Nana; the music CDs are comprised of classic childhood favorites and lullabies, and the play sets and paper dolls emphasize pretend play. 

We were sent a complete gift package and WOW was the first word out of my mouth when I opened the box! Followed quickly by awwww! I couldn't wait to show my daughter and see the expression on her face! 

The Best Pals Dolls – Kathy and Janet, are 16" tall and recommended for children ages 3 and up. They are soft and cuddly – perfect for playtime and a great companion for naptime or bedtime too!  They are available in 6 different styles – the original Kathy and Janet dolls, as shown, along with Lily, Sofia, Isabelle (their 3 multi-cultural dolls) and Danny Boy (see if there is a doll for boys too!). Their clothes are removable and they are the PERFECT size for small children. And they just EXUDE love in the way that only hand-made dolls can!  If you want to give your kids some nostalgic imaginative play, like YOU had, these are THE dolls for it! 

Best Pals CD – This CD is recommended for all ages and contains some of Kathy and Janet Lennon’s favorite childhood songs, like Hush-a-Bye,Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral, All Aboard for Blanket Bay – it’s a great way to share music that parents remember and children adore. Joy (aka Kiddo!) has always loved How Much is That Doggie in the Window and The Candyman, so I know she is going to adore this cd! The sister's harmonies are so wonderful and I know your children will love it to! You can hear samples of the songs on the Best Pals website (also songs from their other 2 cds)!

Best Pals Tin Tea Set - Recommended for ages 3 and up, this sturdy tin tea set has service for 4, complete with a colorful serving tray and carrying case for storage and travel. The adorable Tin Tea Set includes: 1 teapot, 1 serving tray, 4 cups, 4 saucers, 4 plates and 1 carrying case.  This classic toy will inspire hours of imaginative play.

This is a wonderful product line and I will be recommending it to EVERYONE I know with small children- it is such a great idea- old fashioned dolls that make you want to pick them up and hug them. They may not have bells and whistles like the expensive plastic dolls made today, but what they do have will be your child's heart the moment they lay eyes on them. An isn't that more priceless than anything else?
