A MS Adventure: Poplarville Blueberry Jubilee Festival

This past weekend Kiddo, Papa and I trekked across the state line to the small town of Poplarville, Mississippi, for their annual Blueberry Jubillee Festival! This one day festival honors the lovely summer BLUEBERRY! In every form from plant to blueberry lemonade!

They have activities for the kids, including storytelling!, great bands, great food, a kids pageant AND a super duper car show (which I showed you some pix on Wordless Wednesday this week)!

Our primary intent was to get Papa some blueberry bushes for the backyard:

blueberries 1

Kiddo liked these!

blueberries 2

Blueberries already bloomed out and almost ripe! Yippee!

aqua truck

BLUE was the theme and Kiddo was entranced
by the 2 aqua blue trucks at the car show!

And yeah, I was not thinking when we dressed her,
that she was gonna look 60's cool!
She just wanted to wear red, white and blue!
(Can you believe how LONG her pony tails are now?)

Kiddo LOVED being able to see herself in the rims of this lovely car!
(please note the balloon- we found it literally floating by us, BUT
it wasn't one of the BLUE balloons we saw on the route to the
Festival, so we had to hunt one of those down too.
So TWO balloons rode home, with TWO blueberry bushes and
TWO freezer pops (ya gotta LOVE a politician running for
office who hands out freezer pops to the kids when it's 95 degrees out!)

red car

Kiddo claimed this car was her favorite, cause it:
was red
and a convertible
and
BIG for all her friends!
SIGH.....country girl at heart or what?

kiddo

And this is what you get when it's 95 degrees and
somebody is READY to go HOME!
Had to have the fan (thanks politicians- good idea!)
and couldn't carry the other balloon!

We had fun and I will be sharing something else from the fest later today!
Stay tuned!
