Recipe Weekend: Gorton's Grilled Scampi Product Review and Giveaway

As you know, we LOVE Gorton's fish products in our house and were thrilled when we recently had the chance to try their Grilled Shrimp Products- Classic and Shrimp Scamp!

We already love their Grilled Tilapia and Salmon- their smaller portions are perfect for quick supers when there is just 2 of us! Make some microwave rice and veggies and your dinner is ready in less then 20 minutes! They are a time saver we are glad to have in our house!

Now living in Louisiana, we do have access to great seafood. But it never fails, when you really want shrimp, it's off season. So if you have a bag of grilled shrimp ready to go in the freezer, you'd be set. And this is where Gorton's really shines!

The shrimp come in RESEALABLE bags (FINALLY!), have about 18 large shrimps per bag. The grilled has a nice flame grilled taste to them, while the Scampi are marinated in real garlic butter and herbs. They come with the tails still attached, so they make nice presentations, if you are serving on salad or with seafood sauce! The shrimp take less than 15 minutes to cook (stove or oven the best) and are good for most diets at around 130 calories per serving! We bought one of each to try and then ended up combining them for a superb dish!

Mom's Grilled Shrimp and Veggie Toss

Ingredients
2 bags Gorton's Classic Grilled Shrimp- your choice of which variety
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 red pepper, thinly sliced
1 yellow pepper, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, thinly sliced
1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 box (or can) mushrooms, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Tbsp parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp Italian spice (optional)
1 Tbsp Cajun Spice (optional)

Directions:

1. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
2. Sauté peppers, mushrooms and onions for 4 minutes in skillet, stirring constantly.
3. Add Gorton's Classic Grilled Shrimp to skillet and saute for 2 minutes in skillet,then add spices and stir, continue to sauté until shrimp are pink and opaque.
4. Service over rice. We served ours over 2 packs of Uncle Bens Microwave rice.

YUMMY! The picture above really doesn't do the meal justice! It's perfect for a light Summer meal!
