Well our Birthday bash is winding down this weekend and I am glad to be able to offer some great books for giveaway this weekend. Books have been, and always will be one of the primary reasons for this blog- I wanted to share my love of books with friends. Today's entry kept me guessing and on my toes and is the epitome of a page turner!

Synopsis: When the steadfast Ruby Jane Whittaker drops out of sight, dogged ex-cop Skin Kadash sets out to discover what drove the woman he loves to leave her life behind so suddenly and without explanation. 

The discovery of a dead man in her apartment, followed by an attack by a mysterious stalker, leads Skin from Portland  to California — and into a charged encounter with her one-time love Peter McKrall.

About the Author: Bill Cameron lives with his wife and a menagerie of critters in Portland, Oregon. His stories have appeared in Spinetingler, Portland Noir, and the forthcoming First Thrills. He is a member of Friends of Mystery, International Thriller Writers, and Mystery Writers of America. He is an eager traveler and avid bird-watcher, and likes to write near a window so he can meditate on whatever happens to fly by during intractable passages. Review: This is actually the 4th in the Skin Kadash series! How did I miss them? I finished this book in about 5 hours. I had no idea I had either! Seriously, the book moved so quick, I didn't realize I had read half of it until I started yawning and realized how much I had read! So day two of reading was just as quick! I really liked this book, but I really felt like I needed to have read the previous book to have a better handle on the primary 3 characters. It's NOT necessary, I just like backstory!


The novel deals perfectly with small towns and how high school can set a tone for what happens later in your life, if you never leave, and if you DO! Fleeing to the West Coast didn't solve Ruby Jane's issues- they found her even there. I loved how the Portland area was showcased in a way that you don't normally get to see- food trucks at 1Am downtown? Who knew?


All together a great Summer read and I'm glad I found out about the series, and it's on my list to get the rest of the books!
