I am happy to bring to you a wonderful movie today! It is coming to DVD today as well!
Synopsis: Everything can change in an instant ... and take a lifetime to unravel.
When Mac McDonald loses his son in an accident, the ensuing 17 years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God ... and just about everyone else.

Mac's rage stonewalls his career in the police department and makes for a combustible situation when he's partnered with Sam Wright, a rising star on the force who happens to be a part-time pastor and a loving family man.

Mac's home life is as frightening as anything he encounters on the streets of Memphis. Money is tight and emotions run high as he constantly argues with his wife and his surviving son Blake, who is hanging with the wrong crowd and in danger of flunking out of school.

Sam Wright also never expected to be a police officer. He has a calling—to be a minister like his Grandpa George. But leading a small, start-up church doesn't always put enough food on the table for a young family, so Sam doubles as a police officer. With his new promotion to Sergeant, Sam starts questioning if his real calling might actually be police work rather than the pastorate.

Can Mac and Sam somehow join forces to help one another when it's impossible for either of them to look past their differences—especially the most obvious one?

Every day, we have the opportunity to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God's grace. Offer THE GRACE CARD ... and never underestimate the power of God's love.

Review: This is a really interesting movie-if you are a fan of Memphis Beat, this is like seeing the patrol side of Memphis. AKA, a reality check, the underbelly that doesn't get shown except on the news. The characters in this movie are REAL; you will know them from people you know in real life, and you will find yourself nodding repeatedly during the movie at how RIGHT they got EVERYTHING! And forewarning, you WILL need a box of kleenex while watching this movie.

Grace has been a huge topic around our home and churches during the Summer. People truly do not see how their actions/inactions can have a huge domino effect on the people around them, as this movie so well depicts. For our family, this has meant a change of churches, and partially a change of religions. Can there be any bigger choice? Part of the need for change is when your pastor preaches about the TRUE meaning of Grace- loving those who do not love YOU- and the most of the congregation feels he has 'lost it', you have to wonder if that is the place where your family should be. For did not God say "the greatest of these commandments, is that you shall LOVE one another"?

For grace is NOT easy. We say ballerinas are graceful. But how do they get that way? Through an insane amount of hours and hours of practice. And this is what God asks of us- hours and hours of practice at loving those who don't love us back, so that we can FIND grace. As this movie clearly shows, admittedly in shocking and jaw dropping ways, is that God will put tests before us to find the love for our fellowman, and to find grace. It is not easy, but you will find yourself asking yourself why you don't seek it more often, after watching this movie! And in the grace card as presented in this movie, I know our new church, which is starting from the ground up, will find it's path.

It is a VERY powerful movie and I HIGHLY recommend it for all bible study groups, as it is a great starting point for numerous discussions, not just on grace and love. And even for those who claim not to like 'Christian movies'. they will find themselves glued to this movie, as the characters bring you into their lives. And admit it, any movie with Louis Gossett Jr. in it, is gonna be good!

I really can not recommend it enough for everyone! In fact I recommend viewing it multiple times, as there are nuances to just about every scene- it is very well directed and written. So I am very excited to offer one lucky reader their own copy. I hope whoever wins it will share it with their friends, family and churches as well! If you don't win, the movie was just released, so go out and buy it- you won't regret it!

Bonus:
Listen to this song from the movie by TobyMac- even if you are a devout "Christian' the hook is gonna get ya!
