We may live in Louisiana, but when it comes to spicing up our food, we tend to go more South of the Border, than Southern. But that comes from too many years in California.
Our sauce of choice? Cholula Hot Sauce!
Cholula is a sauce with balanced heat that never overpowers the taste of your food (as they say, they "aren't out to kill any mosquitos!"). The difference is Cholula’s 100 year old recipe, is their exclusive blend of piquin and arbol peppers, combined with signature seasonings and natural ingredients. So it's not just HEAT, it's SPICE. You get a moderate heat that ENHANCES your food, and doesn't overpower it! We keep it on the table and it's probably used as much, or more, than any other condiment in our house!
Want a little bit of trivia about Cholula? Their parent company is Jose Cuevo. Yup, THE Jose Cuevo that brings you THE tequilla of choice, and has since the early 1800s!!! So it's no wonder that Cholula Hot Sauce is so great!
It's so great, that many popular restaurants are making it their hit sauce of choice as well, including IHOP, Golden Corral, Marie Callendar's, Quiznos Subs, and Boston Market!
We were sent a 4-pack of the new Cholula flavors to sample and cook with recently! The 4-pack contained one bottle of each unique Cholula variety: Original, Chili Garlic, Chili Lime and Chipotle.
We've enjoyed experimenting with the new flavors and wanted to share some of our successful recipes with you, as they are PERFECT for tailgating, and you know how we Southerners feel about tailgating! So we're going to bring you 3 installments, sharing our fav recipes!
