Back in October, I shared a great new book series with you, written by a wonderfully talented 13 year old writer (wth her mother), Cooper and Me. The series is based on her and her black lab, Cooper, and their friend, Bella the Morkie dog.Today's, Christmas Books for Kids review is a new book in the series, Cooper and me and the Winter Adventure!

The series is now at 4 books, along with a plush mini Cooper, cds and special gift packs available as well (perfect for Christmas giving!)! All of the items are available at their website shop!

What is even more special about the series, is that the duo gives back, with the profits from the books and items:  $1 of every Winter Adventure book sold will go to advance research & treatment of pancreatic cancer, via the Lustgarten Foundation (http://www.lustgarten.org/). Isn't that a wonderful example for our kids? And it's great to know that by buying a book, you are giving back to those in need!

Review: When Kiddo saw this book she gasped with joy and said wow- they must really love me, they sent me ANOTHER Cooper book! Then she grabbed it, hugged it and ran off to jump into bed with it! I'd say she was happy! Because the books are written by a child, I think kids seem to relate to them even more. Kiddo certainly does!

Kiddo has a fascination with SNOW (comes from living where there isn't any!), so she loved the book from the first mention of sledding! She was eagerly turning the pages and thought the idea they came up with to find their way home was a good one! She loved filling out the Information ABout Me, after we read the book too! We had a great discussion about it and the story afterwards. We downloaded the Cooper and Me theme song again (free with book purchase), and she loved singing along with it! She loves these books, and highly recommends them!

  3. We donate food to our local church/foodbank area, every few months. More if I get a bunch of great deals with my coupons. The kids like carrying in a bag of food for others who need help. When they get a little older, we will help serve food and organize or whatever else needs to be done.
