Synopsis: Two people half a world apart, looking for that elusive thing in their lives to make them complete are thrown together in a strange encounter. Their souls are bound together only to be separated again and again.
Nicholas Watson is an agent working for a US counterterrorism force. In the aftermath of a divorce, he dreams of meeting the perfect woman though his lifestyle is not geared to having a normal relationship. His life goes into a tizzy when he meets Kalyna, a beautiful and mysterious European, who also works for her government's counterterrorism unit. When they are thrown together in a work-related encounter, they fall deeply in love, but because of their line of work, they can never make their relationship known.
Always at the forefront of their minds, and constantly driving them with a tremendous force, this elusiveness creates a whirlwind of feelings and intrigue. Miraculous happenings against complications that cause conflict, simply fuels this journey. Impossible scenarios bring the thought that this just cannot happen. It seems that circumstances and life itself arise against the possibility of such a relationship. Yet the drive of personal desire for this fulfillment in their lives keeps the pages of hope and possibility turning. One consequence of such a relationship is death by design. What will the end be? Can love conquer all? Or, can reality win in the end.

Review: First and foremost, this is a guy's book. As I read it, I kept thinking I should have let hubby read/review it, as it is from a male perspective all the way around. I finished it in less than 2 hours, so it is a VERY quick read- it would be great for say a plane ride, as it is easy to put down and pick back up. Perhaps it is just that I am too fond of wise cracking, sarcastic, female protagonists, but I Watson to be dry, and the character of Kalyna not fully developed enough for me to bond with her, so to speak. There is a bit of religion thrown in (Wisdom of Solomon), that while it moves the story along, just didn't mesh as well for me. I would have loved to had the espionage angles more delved into, as the author really shone in those sections. Again, I think this is more of a guy-centric book, and I'm sure they will like it alot, as male reviewers have on other sites.
