Do you remember being able to go through your mom's/aunt's.grandma's sewing basket, and getting the scraps you liked, and then having a toy made for you out of them? If you were lucky you did! There's nothing like being a kid, and having control on what goes into your toy- color, fabric and notions! Not to mention the fact that they were sewn with love.

When I was an adult (single, who has time now?), I liked to make baby blankets for friends who were having a baby. To me it was a personal touch, that meant more to the moms maybe than the baby. BUT I liked to make a matching toy from the scraps if I could. Just carrying on the tradition!
As I haven't done alot of sewing (lack of time!), Kiddo hasn't had many scraps to deal with, so when I had the opportunity to let her make her own creation of Happy Toy Machine, she was uber-excited!
At Happy Toy Machine, your child gets to select, just about EVERYTHING about their toy!
The Toy Creator is VERY simple to use! Kiddo figured it all out before I did! There are 8 forms to choose from, including puppy, rabbit and cow! Then your child can select the shape of the head (including the shape of the eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth, ears and whiskers), body, arms, tail and legs. At each stage, they can select the color as well! Then you can add an emblem to the front of the chest. Then you can add a name to your creation! Once we finished, we sent off our request.
Kiddo was adamant her toy would be here very quickly, but we explained it may be up
2 weeks, minimum, but she just knew it would arrive quickly. She won that bet- it arrived 9 days after the order was sent in! Pretty quick turn around! So without further ado. here's Trixie!
Yup she's colorful from her head to her tail!
Kiddo had a great time making her toy, and she's VERY proud of Trixie, in fact, she's the leader of Kiddo's stuffed toy pack!
The price of the toys is very good: Regular-size toys (10-14 inches tall) are $29.99 and large-size toys (20-24 inches tall) are $49.99. This includes any body parts, shapes, or colors you choose for your toy, and any embroidered features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.) and decorations that you want to put on your toy. When you consider the AMOUNT of personalization your child can do, it's a great buy! PLUS, you can see where boys would be overjoyed at making robots, monsters and aliens, versus the normal 'sweet' stuffed toys, like at other stores! You can even buy a gift certificate ($25), to give as a present! How great would that be for a child?
Check out the Happy Toy Machine Facebook page, for special contests they are running, as well as their Twitter page, for links to other blogs giving away Happy Toy Machine toys as well!
