Kiddo has come by her love of competition honestly! She comes from a long line of game players! The problem we are having is she is 'in between' most of the games out there, or that we already have. She is 'bored' with preschool games, but not up to alot of the word or card games our family enjoys yet. So I was quite happy to review this great little game, that fits the bill of what we have been looking for!
Say hello to Spot It! There is always one, and only one, matching symbol between any 2 cards in this party game. Spot it and you win! A sharp eye and a little bit of speed is all it takes to become a Spot it! master. With 5 different ways to play and brilliant game mechanics, this game has fans everywhere hooked and has won 12 best toy awards. Half a million of Spot It have been sold through specialty toy stores alone in just 18 months!
The cards come in an adorable little tin, that is perfect for traveling! In fact, it's great for use as a car game, a beach game, a vacation game, or just for at home on rainy days (Spring break IS coming up!)! The game is set for kids ages 7 and up, but as you can see Kiddo thoroughly enjoys playing Spot It! So yes, kids as young as 4 will enjoy it! And let me tell you, sometimes it is HARD trying to find the matches! SO yes, adults will love it too!
Kiddo's favorite game is Slam!, as she calls it. This simple variation has you divide the cards up by amount of layers, then everybody draws a card, and first person to get a match wins the card. Kiddo and I kept alternating wins- she'd win a game, then I'd win a game! She LOVES matching games, so I wasn't surprised at how well she did with this new game! She would play non stop, if we let her!
Of the five game variations, Kiddo was able to master 3 of them, but SLAM!is still her fav!
The other 2 games require more cunning and strategy, so are more suited for adult play. We all like the ease of playing this game- there's no additional small pieces to worry about loosing, and everything, including the game instructions, fits nicely into a small tin, that you can carry in your purse! Woo hoo-!
Blue Orange has some great games that will expand your game nights- consider their Froggy Boogie memory game, Spell It! a fast paced word game, or Chickyboom, a great balancing game! Check out their store locator for a store near you, or you can order online from them directly!
I am thrilled to be able to offer one lucky BTHM reader their own Spot It! game tin!
