Review:   This is one of those struct shake diets that will basically force you to loose weight, as your body screams for more nutrients, as takes from it's internal stores. You start off with 2 shakes and soup for dinner, graduate to having one shake a day with 2 low cal meals (over 50 recipes provided in the book), and then a low cal balanced diet. There is also daily 45 minute exercise (walking, then workouts) to get your metabolism revving. The basic fat release workout provided is what most of know as a general circuit training program (the included  illustrations are great for showing proper form).

The book has an excellent section showing the foods that are high in certain vitamins and nutrients, excellent sources for calcium, fiber and fat releasing seasonings! The first shake you drink is basically a fiber or fruit, a healthy fat, flavorings (such as cinnamon and coca powder), with yogurt, light coconut milk, honey, vanilla and nonfat milk powder. pretty much your basic diet/healthy smoothie. The included recipes are yummy sounding (like Chunky beef and Vegetable Chili with Red Wine, Meatballs and Spaghetti Squash, or Poached Chicken with Garlic-Walnut Sauce).

Generally I am not a fan of starvation/restricted diets. I think if you added the shake into your healthy diet plan, and incorporated her workout plan, you would still see impressive results, but probably be better off. But all in all, this is a good book to start off with and maybe give your diet plan a kick-start.

And now for one of my favorite recipes from the book:

Fudgy Mocha Brownies
