CD Review and Giveaway: Golden Records: The Magic Continues – Celebrity Series, Vol. 1 Kids CD

Kiddo and I recently got the chance to review their new Golden Record: Celebrity Series: The Magic Continues cd (just released THIS week)  It has 20 classic songs (like Yankee Doodle Dandy, Who's Afraid of the Big bad Wolf and Pop Goes the Weasel) and stories (like Rapunzel, The Little Engine That Could and Puss in Boots), that combine the beautifully orchestrated original recordings, digitally restored with the talent of today’s biggest and brightest stars. They bring back the recordings of the 50s and 60s that we all loved! It is so wonderful to hear orchestrated, REAL music, versus the synthesized and digitized modern music! And best yet? Tony Shimkin, award winning music producer, and son of original Golden Record music producer, Arthur Shimkin, is carrying on his father's legacy with this new series! The story tellers include Ed Asner, Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone (Kiddo's favorite!), Cheryl Hines, and Didi Conn!  Check out the video preview:

We've always sang the old classics to Kiddo and told her classic tales and stories, so it was great for her to hear them in a version that I could tell her I grew up with! And I know that I can put on the cd and walk out of the room and have NO worries about what she may be hearing! We highly recommend it! It would be a great Christmas stocking present! The cd is available online at Amazon,  iTunes, via Golden Records, and locally exclusively at Wal-Mart.
