Welcome to our stop on The Tutor's Daughter Blog Tour!
Synopsis: Emma Smallwood, determined to help her widowed father when his boarding school fails, accompanies him to the cliff-top manor of a baronet and his four sons. But soon after they arrive and begin teaching the two younger boys, mysterious things begin to happen. Who does Emma hear playing the pianoforte at night, only to find the music room empty? And who begins sneaking into her bedchamber, leaving behind strange mementoes?
The baronet's older sons, Phillip and Henry Weston, wrestle with problems--and secrets--of their own. They both remember the studious Miss Smallwood from their days at her father's academy. But now one of them finds himself unexpectedly drawn to her....
When suspicious acts escalate, can Emma figure out which brother to blame and which to trust with her heart?
Review: This is one of those books that you don't think you'll be reading ii all in one sitting, but it surprises you, and you won't be able to put it down! I was intending to read 6 or 7 chapters, and ended up finishing the book, around midnight! This is definitely a book that will keep you reading. The characters will grab you, make you love them, and make you want to see a happy ending the book! If you love Downtown Abbey, the TV series, you'll love this book!
The book is Christian in nature, however it is dealt with very appropriately, and you don't realize you're reading a "Christian historical novel" until more toward the end of the book, and again it is placed naturally to the characters' situations, and it seems right to have it there. I highly recommend this book if you like romance, and it is also a nicely done historical novel. Definitely a high 5 on the 5 scale!
