Ah the dog house, it's been awhile since we visited, hasn't it!

rachel ray nutrish pack 2

Working with a team of pet nutrition experts, Rachael Ray has developed a new line of dog food, Rachel Ray Nutrish Zero Grain, which is currently only available in Turkey & Potato Recipe.

The new line is Rachael's first grain-free food for dogs that is natural, easily digestible and available where you shop for your family's groceries. It is  made with simple, natural ingredients that don't contain any grains, glutens or fillers. Like these:

zero grain grains

Yup- those grains and fillers are in regular dog food!

You can even tell the difference by looking at the two types of dog food:
Compare regular dog food and Zero Grain, side by side:

I don't know about you, but the Zero Grains on the right just looks better, doesn't it?
Less processed and 'fake'....

The new Zero Grain is made up of:
  • Real Turkey, raised on U.S. farms, is always the first ingredient. It’s lean, easily digestible, and may help to provide relief from many food allergy symptoms.
  • Turkey Meal, the second ingredient, it provides essential amino acids and B vitamins to help maintain lean muscle and healthy organs. Turkey Meal is also a natural source of Glucosamine and Chondroitin to help support joint health, especially helpful for older animals..
  • Whole Potatoes, Peas, & Tapioca are easily digestible vegetable carbohydrate sources. Also, Tapioca has no known food allergens.
  • Whole Flaxseed & Poultry Fat allows dogs to get protein from fat instead of grains. They are also naturally rich sources of Omega-6 and -3 fatty acids, which help to keep skin healthy and coat shiny.
  • Beet Pulp is a wholesome fiber source that naturally provides prebiotics to help maintain healthy digestion

The new line is available in 6 and 14 lb bags. Marley is a finicky eater for a dog (figures, the kid isn't but the dog is...) and she loves the entire line of Rachel Ray products, so I wasn't surprised when she chowed down on the Zero Grain when I first gave it to her! But she is finicky, so we've had to go back to her regular chow, and add in the Zero Grain to it. I think it's because she's not a huge turkey fan (remember, finicky eater). I think it was in a chicken or pork flavor, she would may the switch with no problem. So I'll be keeping my eye out for new flavors, so I can make the switch!

Did you know that all Rachael Ray Nutrish foods, are made in the USA from simple, wholesome ingredients?

They are!

Additionally, proceeds from each bag of Nutrish go to Rachael's Rescue, an organization that helps animals in need. It was created for all of the forgotten pets — the ones in shelters, who may not get adopted. Proceeds go toward food, medical supplies and treatments for animals in need.

Be sure to check out Rachel's website for frequent coupons!
