This summer, Adventures in Odyssey is calling kids across the country to serve their families, their communities, and their world, via their program  A.C.T.S.!—A Call To Serve. Your kids can join thousands of kids across the country making a commitment to serve your family, your community and even the world!

Here is a refresher on A.C.T.S.
A.-Adoration is an act of paying honor or worship.
C.- Confession-say we are sorry for something we may have
thought, said or done that displeases God
T.- thank God for blessings in your life.
S.-pray for others and then yourself

Miss Grace Service Chart is coming along! She is already almost 3/4ths of the way along her path!
I have been really impressed with how well she has taken to this calling!

“When you serve,everybody wins!”

This week's call to Service is:
June 9-Serve Your Family- how can you help serve Dad as Father's Day nears?

My dad gets to double dip, as his birthday is this week also
(and my Mom's is near Mother's Day- makes it difficult in some ways for us! LOL)

A.C.T.S. is also calling us to use our imagination this week and find new and inventive ways to serve others!
Our pastor touched on this in last week's sermon- that we each have our own unique gifts, and our call is to USE those gifts in the service of others, and by doing so, we show out Christianity. Even if it is just listening, or asking someone how their day has been, by taking the time to

Fourteen-year-old Matthew, a dedicated Adventures in Odyssey fan and natural tech whiz, was inspired
by a trip to the Apple store to create a smartphone app for his church. Since then, he has created
21 apps for different ministries, including his local pregnancy resource center, Joni and Friends (an
international ministry for people with disabilities), and even an “Adventures in Odyssey Fan News” app
(for Android and iPhone/iPad)! His science news app is super for homeschoolers too!
Matthew used his God-given talents and imagination to bless others through technology.

Which of your kid’s unique gifts are waiting to be unleashed for God’s use?

If you need ideas, check out the Service Kit for new ways to serve!

Here's a refresher on the program:

How the A.C.T.S. challenge and contest works:

Kids who join A.C.T.S. can pick up a service log and collect fun character stickers for hours served at
participating bookstores throughout the summer, or download a serving log online at whitsend.org

This week's call to service is to Serve Your Family- this could be helping a sibling with a project or everyday chores, helping more around the house, making a coupon book for help to give to Mom (in honor of Mother's Day yesterday), or even praying with a family member, in their time of need! Service has many different aspects, and if you are open to the possibilities, they WILL present themselves!

You can view a special video about serving, The Business of Busyness too!

Stay tuned every week for updates and that week's call to service!

  1. My power of dad moment...not sure what you want here but I will never forget my dad leaving his job across the country to fly home the night that he found out that I had Lupus when I was only 17. When he walked in the door and gave me a hug I knew it was going to be okay.
